Default Just a few more month left in my IS

Hi everyone,

After having a white 2015 IS350 F Sport (AWD) with a black interior, then a white 2017 IS350 F Sport (AWD) with red interior, then time has come to order my new toy for the spring...A white 2019 RC350 F Sport (AWD) with black interior. My IS only has 9500 km and has never seen a spec of rain or flake of snow and is in pretty much assembly line condition. I love to flip cars every two years and the time has come....

I'll keep you posted with pics when I get it

Ok...I gotta ask the obvious question.

If you've had the car for 2 years and only put on 9500kms, why even have a car?
I mean, I drive about 10,000kms a year, and even that is borderline for asking myself the same question.
Assuming you lease it, the monthly payment, plus insurance, plus gas (which won't be much, let's face it)...you could Uber it everywhere (literally) and still be waaaay ahead.

I have 6 months left, torn as to what to get next. First was thinking IS350 but then would feel like i have the same car except for the power. The new RC350 was on my radar as well but lately i have been thinking that i could get a 2019 C300 AMG line coupe/sedan or the new BMW 330I Msport. Next car will be leased again since i have decided to wait for the 2nd gen ISF.

So if i get a German car it will be short term since i will return in 3 years when the 4IS is out and the ISF in the lineup then. If i can get a good deal on an 2019 RC350 with the triple beam headlight i will take it. Otherwise i will take a hiatus and go back to the Germans. I came from BMW but never owned a Mercedes so there's that whole bucket list thing.

Sasnuke - Well, I am an addict to new cars. The Lexus is my nice weather toy as I have 2 other cars. I lease to keep my payments lower and while I know its like throwing money out, we all have our vices right? I have seen people spend 7K on a 10 day vacation - for me, about 8k gets me a Lexus for a year

EXE46 - I would wait for the new 3 series, I think it looks sharp! I don't have a dealer in my town and the closest is about 2h away so too far to take the risk. I have been in too many Mercedes (new) that have way too many rattles for a car worth that much and brand new!

You're right about the Merc, that's what i have been discovering in my research online. Many rattles, poor interior quality etc so i will pass and either get the new BMW or the refreshed RC350 with the triple beam LED headlights.

^^ I have considered going with the RC F but the biggest problem is I find the wheel design and a few other styling cues a bit off, and additionally, for what I do with the vehicle which is mainly country/city driving, a V8 might be a bit over the top.

What I like with the V6 is that it is super smooth, proven reliability and not turbos! I know the days of naturally aspired engines are almost a thing of the past because of the "tree huggers" and "save the planet" hypocrites.

You keep getting the same car. If I were on a 2 year cadence, I would go German or try Genesis.

EZZ - The only issue is that I want to avoid a turbo engine - I like a naturally aspired engine and these are becoming very rare....

^^ Thanks for the correction of my spelling - I noticed I made the same mistake on both posts about the naturally aspirated engine - I am French speaking at times, my fingers don't follow how the words sound in my head (lol).

It is nice to see that someone supported both of my arguments - At 14K for 10 days, it must have been a very exotic trip or involved a larger family trip.

It it makes you happy and you can afford it, then why the hell not...only live once. What options did you get on your RC350? be sure to give driving impressions in relation to the IS350, I'm really liking the updates Lexus did for 2019.

EXE46 - I am not sure where you are from but here in Canada, once you select the RC350 F Sport, there is not other trims/options available - It gives you the fully loaded version. There is a good likelihood that I will add the rear spoiler as an accessory. On the IS350, I didn't like it as much but for the RC, it seems they have done a better job with its integration.

I'll make sure to report the driving impressions once I get it. I agree with you 100%, life is too short and why not enjoy it while you can.....
