2019 IS 300 revised ECU reprogramming
Haven’t seen this one talked about much.
Per Lexus’ press release, the largest change for the 2019 model year is this standard feature:
”Revised ECU programming on rear-wheel drive IS 300s for improved throttle response, optimized transmission shifts and quicker turbocharger response”
I went from an F30 BMW 328i RWD > 2019 IS 300 RWD. My aunt has a 2016 IS 200t that I thought felt lethargic (at least, last time I drove it) compared to the 328i, but I figured when I drove the IS 300 that I’ve just become accustomed to turbo lag at this point and/or lowered my expectations because I wanted out of my portly-engineered German pile of garbage.
Can anyone confirm placebo, or did Lexus actually make significant notable changes to how the computers handle the RWD IS 300 powertrain?
