Cross Country trip with painter’s tape - Cali to ATL
Let’s see how this painter’s tape holds up? Underestimated how long applying it would take and I have never been so annoyed with all the angles of the front end!
Or should I jus tear it all off?

That’s not a bad job, hopefully it doesn’t rain lol. I would just keep it on and hope the parts you didn’t tape don’t get hit by a rock or something.

I've done this before. Suggest removing right after you arrive at your destination. Keeping it on may leave residue that's very difficult to remove. Especially if it has a chance of baking in the sun.

drives cars
I have a couple of rock chips in the area between the headlight and the DRL. Fingers-crossed you don't see one of those as well.
Have safe travels btw.

Reached Flagstaff, AZ. Thankfully made a driving buddy along the way (Subaru WRX STI) that got me re-energized. Hoping to take a few scenic pics along my drive. Not these down below. Next stop, Amarillo, TX!

For this kind of stuff, I would use vinyl wrap next time. You can even get it the same color as the car. And would be fun to apply =) but this works too.. really i wouldve done the whole front bumper. the lower part is really the most vulnerable.

@E46CT bad planning on my part. I left the taping to the last second. Learned the hard way. Better than nothing I guess? But for anyone viewing this thread, HIGHLY recommend taping the entire front end, including full hood. Will tape it all up next time around, blah.
In somewhat boring but interesting news, tried to see how far I could go on a single tank. Here is the image! Kept cruise control at 75mph for the majority of the trip. Some brisk acceleration when leaving 3-4 rest stops. Edit: just did the math with the gas receipt- 13.971 gallons. Works out to ~31.97 mpg!
