Default 2019 IS 350 or ES 350

Either would bet the F version, which would make the best daily driver for the wife.. we are located in the NE...So leaning towards the IS because AWD..

Just went thru this decision myself.... Chose the 2018 IS350 F-Sport. If the 2019 ES350 F-Sport had AWD & folding rear seats, the choice would've been different.

Just went through this decision and happily chose the IS350 F Sport over the ES just because of the looks and feel when you're in the driver seat.

I would strongly consider the ES F Sport. It is FWD which should be fine in the winter with decent All Season tires. Both are good looking cars, the ES looks more like the 'Big Boy' LS.

I agree. At least for me, I think that for mid-sizes combining luxury with sportiness clash (note that I did not say 'performance'). At that car class or larger, it should just stick with the focus on being luxury.

While the IS is not a true sports car, I think the aesthetics and the size of the car are well balanced - not too large and not compact, enough to fully experience that sporty feel.

The two cars are very different. One is a little compact sports sedan that's driver oriented. Other is a luxury FWD cruiser. Only thing remotely similar is price and manufacturer.

I was also debating this, and after test driving the ES350 F-sport, I decided to stick with the IS350 F-sport for now.

The ES is MUCH bigger than I imagined - I thought it'd be a mid-size sedan, not full-size. Even with a lot of horse power, it didn't accelerate and handle as nearly as quick and easy as the IS. The engine also sounds like an everyday family car even when rev'd up (not sporty like the IS, which I know just uses a pipe to amplify the sound but still...). I might look into this car in the future, when I'm ready to drive a big boat.

What year did you drive? What you are describing sounds like a 2018 or earlier for sure.

It was the new 2019. I mean, it's definitely a beautiful, wonderful car. It's just quite different than the IS even though it now looks sporty.

Ugh, that stinks. I was hoping the new model would be less boaty than the outgoing one. The old ES is nice to drive as far as comfort and noise goes. However, the steering is very slow to respond and vague, and it has pretty objectionable body roll. That said, those things don't make it a bad vehicle. Just not as fun as the IS.

See Arentz07, i don't need this one as a loaner either since his review reminds me of the 2018 I had lol, car felt huge and drove much bigger than it is. No kidding when i said the RX drove smaller than the ES. It's a case of " don't believe the hype"...... They are killing the GS for this... how sad...
