Default Windshield wiper deicer

So, does that mean the wipers are heated so when the snow melts, your wipers won't get frozen? I had a problem with frozen wipers for my mitsubishi lancer.

The wipers themselves aren't heated, but there is a heating element along the bottom of the windshield. Definitely a nice touch.

So my 2017 IS300 Fsport has rain sensing wipers?

Burrcold is correct. These work fairly well actually. Not perfect as in very cold days they just cant keep up but they help delay it just a little longer. Ones in my 07 wrx didnt work anywhere near as well.

If you have an auto button on your wiper stall then yes.

My CT200h has this too. Such a waste as I'd never need it. Waste of a switch on the console too.

Sounds like an expensive windshield replacement.

that strip dosnt make it expensive actually. My Subaru has the same thing and the windshield is only about 200 Canadian. It's the rain sensor, lane assists, and auto wipers that make it expensive. Just happy I dont have heads up display

Those don't actually make the windshield more expensive either as the sensors are all separate from the glass. It's just the calibration of all the sensors that can be expensive when the glass is replaced.

What trims and years do these heaters come on? I've got a 2015 F-Sport with AWD (which comes with the heated steering wheel, I think is part of a cold weather package). I've never noticed this when cleaning the windshield, but maybe I need to look closer. Is there a button for them, or do they just automatically turn on when you turn the front defog on?

There's a button where your auto high beams, rear sunshade, parking assist, etc are located to left of the steering wheel. You can also see the elements running along the bottom of the windshield where your wipers rest.
