I cant speak for this screen but android 7.1 is alot better than android 6.0 in terms of features and looking at the screen it seems the 7.1 screen has widgets which you cant get in the 6.0 screen and will help alot if you want to view apps as widgets whilst doing something else. Also the seller confirmed the original features do work and the sound quality is same as original lexus and the companies own engineer can help you with any problems or updates as it has 1 year warranty. Seems like this is the same unit but updated as 6.0 is very old (2015) software. Also its cheaper and the seller seems to understand english well.

Which seller did you speak of in connection with the 7.1 unit? A seller from China? Seems that the Canadian distributor 4x4 only has the 6.0 unit available.

I'm keeping tabs on this thread too. Over time I see less issues. However I am awaiting for a upgrade using English units in lieu of SI units. I'm not a fan of having a extra GPS antenna. I'm not too concerned about the OEM mic for that I barely use anyway. I'm still a little skeptical but I am open minded and interested.

You don’t really need the extra gps antenna if you’re using Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Question, so I will be able to use my OEM navigation as normal?

Hmm, I’m not too sure because I don’t have OEM nav, but as long as you’re able to keep the stock GPS antenna intact, you should be good.

OEM GPS functions as normal (as do all OEM functions), only need 2nd GPS antenna to run GPS software on andriod mode

Android side music. Lexus input A/V.
Android side video. Lexus input AUX.

I would say the audio is comparable to what is coming from the Lexus side when I'm in the proper mode (AUX or A/V)

For those following this thread my audio issue was solved by connecting two wires together on the main wiring harness on the back of the screen.

Where did you connect the two black wires together, is this what the engineer suggested?

That's what he suggested for me to fix my issue. My main problem was I had zero audio coming from the Android side. He told me some need those two black wire 'bridged' together. One of those wires was labelled ground wire.

If you already have audio coming from the Android side you don't need to do the above connection.

On a side note, has anyone experienced random reboots where it gets stuck in a constant reboot cycle for a good 3-4 minutes?

Nope, but it’s weird that sometimes the startup “Android image” sequence happens and sometimes it’s just already right at the android homepage,

I don't have any random reboot issues at all either, but I do have this issue. Not sure if it's a problem or not.

JWIS350 are you on the latest software?

Hey All - Just curios if any of you use AA, I have an iPhone for main use and Caplay looks great...I was just messing around seeing how AA looked with my old HTC m8 and it seemed to stretch (didn't scale properly). How does AA look with newer devices?
