Has anyone installed a Dash Cam in their IS250 2014?
I just got a Roav C1 Pro Dash cam and was wondering if anyone installed it/hardwired or wired in?
I am trying to decide where to put it, while allowing the cable to reach the USB ports - under the arm rest console.
It came with a cig -> USB adapter too, but... that is even further to reach.
Any suggestions on installing a dash cam to make it seamless while reaching the ports inside the arm rest?

That link shows for a radar dedector.
I have a RoAV C1 Pro Dash Cam, and it uses a USB (Male Micro 5-pin) cable that goes into a USB cigarette lighter adapter.
How would I go about connecting a USB to to the rear view mirror? I like to do this for obvious reasons:
1) Cleaner
2) I can find a short USB cable and not have to use the long one that came with, and install the cables/hide.

Whether it's a dash cam or radar detector, or anything else, the principle is the same, you need Power, Ground, and IGN.
There is another thread where they wired a USB port to the mirror wires. Or you can get a cable the plugs into the dash cam and has wires to install into the mirror wiring.
A search of Amazon should find everything you need.
Remember you need DC-DC converter if you're going to tap power from rearview mirror for your dash cam. People are saying it's the same thing but depends on how you translate it, average Joe might think it's just plug and play. You'd need 12v -> 5v converter.

The link in the last massage does cover if it is that the dash cam uses a 5V source, rather than 12V. The DIY'er had an adjustable unit to vary the voltage output.
You will need either the direct wire connection from the camera to the car. Usually the manufacture of the camera would make this available. Or get an adapter that allows you to plug in the cigaret connector to it. One of the best one for dash cam is called Power magic pro. See if it would be compatible with your camera. This should allow you to record while park if the tour dash cam has the feature. Be careful that you put the settings on the power magic pro so that you don’t kill your battery.

I powered mine using wires from the two wire bundles located above the map light panel piece. Use a multimeter to identify the switched 12v and ground. Then you step down using a 12VDC to 5VDC converter and tuck everything up inside that panel.
I have the same camera. I went down the a-pillar, under, the glovebox, under the center console and up a small panel in the armrest. The cable is long enough to reach.
I didn't remove the center console. I just tuck the wire inside the center console running down the side. It's tight enough to hold the wire in place. I did use the dual usb cig adapter.
Careful around A - pillar. not only do you want to be careful about where you put that wire, you also don't want any static discharge around the airbag. It can be done, just a tad risky.
I wired the current dash cam we have in the IS through the A pillar and have it tapped into the fuses with a quick disconnect along with a safety fuse
I am considering a fuse tap.
However, to clarify - does this mean, I have to splice or cut the usb end and connect it to fuse connector - then plug it to the fuse box on the bottom left of the steering column?
Does this remove the fact - of connecting it to a power source like the cigarette lighter or USB ports (hidden in the arm rest)?

The ROAV C1 Pro?
Do you have pics of what you're saying? I thought about that, but was concerned about the OOB power/wires would be long enough. How did get it into the arm rest area without the wires just showing? Got pics of your wiring from top center to arm rest?
I don't have the pro but it's the same style in 1080p, the original C1. The supplied cable is 9.8' long. Plenty long with some slack. I'll get some pixs tonight.
