Girlfriend wants an IS 3rd Gen
Hi my girlfriend has a 2007 ford focus that's giving her problems and always wanted a Lexus IS 3rd gen. Her price range is 17-18k. I was looking and I see many with different miles on them. Is there any specific year she should stick to or anything that's important to note? Is there any problem in buying one thats over 50k miles? Thanks

Never seen a 3rd gen IS with that price range... they are usually ~25k+.
Only thing that bugs me is that 2014 had glossy (very scratch-able) center console trim. I would go with 2015+

Cars.com Lexus is250
We've found multiple for under 20k it just matter how many miles on it which is why I posted here. Do you think there are any certain amount of miles she should stay under?

Yes I understand but some cars are priced significantly better that are ~70k just didn't know if that would be a problem..don't know anything about their reliability

Thanks noeh, honestly she doesn't care much about how fast it is as she's come from a old Ford focus and before that was a Toyota Corolla. Although I'll take a look to see if they're not much more

It really doesn't matter mileage, if the vehicle was serviced regularly, then you should be fine.
The 2014 was plagued with some infotainment issues if you had the navi equipped model.
If she is in no real for navi, then I would go with a 2014 250 non navi with about 60K miles.
For her price range it may be hard to get into a 2015 base model even...unless it had crazy high mileage.

the only service that's going to matter at 50,000 miles is the engine oil changed. It should've been changed 5x by then. So make sure you have 5 oil change records.
all the other stuff like checking floormats, checking washer fluid, inspecting brake pads is meaningless to the longevity of the car.
