2018 Lexus IS350 F-sport issue?
I just bought my 2018 Lexus IS350 F-sport and it only has been 4 days with 150 miles on and now I realized that when I am making sharp turn and reverse 90 degree parking, it is making noises coming from the transmission. I had my mechanic took a look and he didn't like the noise and he recommended to switch for a new one. What is the best way I should approach the dealership with this issue? For those who has the 17 & 18 IS3550, do you experience anything like this as well? I didn't want to spend over 50k for something that is making noises everytime I am making a turn. Please help?

Is it only doing it when you turn? I wouldn't think it would be the transmission if it only did it during sharp turns in forward and reverse. I mean, if it was the transmission, it would be doing it ALL the time.

Take it to the dealer and have a tech ride with you, do exactly what you're doing to make the noise so they can hear it. You can also record the sound with your phone (just stick it out the window). No point in asking your mechanic since the car is brand new and under warranty. Could just be something as simple as the ABS self-check doing its thing.

Why would you bring it to your mechanic when it's brand new and under warranty? Get it to the dealer and let them find out what's wrong (could be something so simple). I'm also suspect of this post given your name "pos350".

If the noise you're describing is a brief grinding, almost thumping sound, then this has been reported before, but I can't find the thread. I've had it since day one on my '16 when making u-turns or pulling out from a parking spot with the wheel locked. When it happens, it almost sounds like the car ran over something or dipped into a pothole. I believe it was explained as having something to do with the car's soft LCA bushings and / or tight turning radius. I'm sure that someone here will confirm for you. Either way, let us know the outcome.

My '17 AWD IS300 makes similar noises to what other members are describing as well.
Btw sorry to hi-jack this thread, but does the defroster icon show up in your vent setting screen when you turn on your defroster? Mine worked for the first 1000KM, then the icon stopped showing up after

Yeah none of his post makes sense.
1) How would one determine the noise is "coming from the transmission"?
2) Why / how would a mechanic suggest "switching it for a new one." Yeah, that's not how that works.
3) How would tires be causing a noise when reversing?
Further, he calls it a "noise," but doesn't bother describing it.

My 2014 250 AWD does the same thing.
It's likely the combination of a few different things that amount to it being normal for the vehicle.
The vehicle has no issue driving forward under any circumstance, so the likelihood of something only being wrong when reversing is really small.
As for a transmission issue...since these are automatic vehicles we're talking about, there is no "reverse gear" as such, unlike a manual transmission.
The same planetary gear sets that are responsible for the forward gears are also responsible for reverse...so if something is wrong, it will effect more than just reverse.
One suggestion would be to ask them to drive a house demo/same vehicle on the lot, and see if it does the same thing. If it does, then it's a normal characteristic of the vehicle.
