Rear Deck Removal To Access Stock Subwoofer
Hey everyone I have a 2017 IS 300 and I need your help in figuring out how to remove the rear deck that covers the subwoofer in the back of the car. The reason I need this is to get access to the plug harness that connects to the stock sub to disconnect this and plug in my new harness that will go to my aftermarket sub setup that I designed for this system.

I have a 2017 IS300 and before this I had a 2015 NX200T
in the NX I wanted more bass and also had the annoying lift gate rattles from all the thin metals and plastics in the lift gate from the stock sub.
My fix. I purchased a dual voice coil 4 ohm subwoofer 10” and built a sealed box for it ( built it for fun no other reason)
and I purchased a Toyota lexus speaker harness from Crutchfield and just ran a new speaker wire from the existing wire where the stock subwoofer was into the trunk and hooked up the new subwoofer.
The important ant thing here is that the stock sub is 2.3 ohms resistance so you take the dual voice coil subwoofer that you purchase and wire the coils in parralel and that brings the total ohms of the speaker to 2.3 ohms. This is important because it will match the systems original spec and perform the best.
After doing this this the NX system sounded like I had an amp pushing this new subwoofer setup.
Honestly everyone one thought I needed another amp but they were wrong. The system sounded so good and for the total cost of 140.00 subwoofer and box with harness.
Now that hat I have the IS300 I want to do the same thing but I’m not sure how to remove the rear deck cover without breaking clips and such.
I was was hoping someone here would know how to do this step by step safely so that I can connect my harness and run the new wire to the new subwoofer.

It's only been 3 hrs. Not everyone is on here 24/7.
You would need to fold down the rear seats, remove the c pillar panels, unbolt some screws holding the rear tray and pull the rear deck tray out.

Pull the bottom cushion off and unbolt the side cushion.

After I unbolt the side cushions what’s next? The dealer
told me there was four bolts holding down the front of the rear shelf.
Can anyone confirm this or what I do after removing the side cushions?

Dude my car has 400 miles on it. I am just trying not to break stuff this early on. I’ve messed up c pillars and stuff before attempting to take rear decks out without knowing the proper sequence it had to be done and where there where clips and bolts.
Was just trying to ask for some help from someone who has done it that could explain start to finish.
Any help is is most appreciated but if you can’t it’s no big deal

fun fact, I tore mines apart at less than 200 miles on it lol

#1 I don't believe you have to disassemble the rear desk to get to the subwoofer's wiring. You can get to the sub's wiring from inside the trunk. You have to remove the plastic panel on the underside of the rear deck to expose it all. You remove this panel from inside the trunk.
#2 I don't believe that you will find a harness at the sub's location either. The wires are welded to the speaker's 2 poles. Any harness will be attached at the amplifier which is inside the trunk back-right corner of car. But, perhaps there's a harness in the middle somewhere I'm not aware of.

Post a picture when you're finished, Dunhill. I just finished a sealed box for mine as well. I had to dump the ported box because it was taking up about half of my trunk space. I love the sealed sound, and it uses half the space of the ported box. I have a supplemental amp though. My only concern for you running this sub off of the factory amp is that, as opposed to the NX, a lot of the bass may be contained within the trunk, since it's not an open cabin like the NX. I'm hoping it all works out for you. Please be sure to let us know how it sounds.
