Default 2018 IS350 updates

Debating if I should get the 3rd Gen IS350 or just wait for the 4th gen. Coming from a 2008 Acura TL.

Am I missing anything that they have updated for the 2018 models?
1. Headlight
2. Bigger infotainment screen
3. LSD

You're going to be waiting a long time for 4th gen. Perhaps late 2020.

As far as 18 models, well most importantly, later '17 (built after July) models got a stronger reinforced front occupant compartment so your feet and legs dont get torn apart in a small angle crash. At least the driver's side.

08 TL is a nice car especially if 6 speed manual. aged incredibly well.

Don't forget you get a lifetime membership of the wonderful Lexus Enform Suite (can you sense the sarcasm)

Lexus App Suite was always lifetime.

Just for 2018, the SOS feature is good for 10 years, instead of 1.

It also comes with the remote services which end in a year on pre 2018 models. At least thats somewhat useful.

Hows the 8 speed tranny vs the 6 speed? Would be nice to have 8 speed on the AWD.

Hows the LSD since it's standard now.

Benefits imo for the 8 speed is fuel economy. IF you commute alot, 8 speed would be more efficiency than the 6 speed.

I avg, 24 mpg on my IS350F RWD (8 speed). But, I do alot of HWY travel for my commute.

Does anyone know if they have fixed little quirks that have been plaguing the first couple of years of the 3rd gen IS?

One that I know of is the headlights, they made the bottom headlight straight so it doesn't collect snow.

Can you be more specific.
I know one issue of the A/C blending doors getting stuck that has been fixed on the Gen3. I think the 2014-15 models still had issues, but they were fixed on the 15+.
The Enform sytem has connectivity issues. I can speak personally to that! Inner tire wear on the front tires is also an on going issue.

Like little problems interior, exterior wise. Like the headlight updated to fix the snow collection issue. Have they fixed the exterior issue as dirt collects on the rear door jams?

Would be nice to have the option to have custom drive select options.

Living in snow country, it seems I get dirt everywhere. I washed my car for the first time in two weeks and I had dirt on the inside of all doors, but it only required a total of two microfiber towels. That's all four doors, under hood, trunk, and gas door.
So I guess that's not terrible!

So as of this posting, both MYs are equally safe according to these two crash testing agencies.
Not sure what you are implying, but I am the absolute authority on this topic (short of the actual engineers) on several forums dating back over a decade. I have memorized most of the measurements of deflections on all parts of every car tested.

Anyway... For MY17, Lexus made two structural changes to the driver's side of the 3IS. Models after July '17 got the second update.

So the 3IS has 3 different structures possible.
