Default IS350 Speaker Sizes

What are the sizes of our speakers? I am considering going aftermarket for door speakers and maybe the sub.

it really is a speaker located there.
The microphone is located overhead in the maplight console.

Any place I can put tweeters? Should I remove a couple of speakers and put tweeters instead? I was thinking of buying 2 pair of focal speakers and one sub with amp in trunk.

That's your center channel! You could put tweets in location 2 but your only other fronts (if non-ML) are 7" so not a good match. Better to put in coaxials, 4" (if they'll fit) with a nice soft-dome tweeter.

Something's odd about those speaker specs. The "rated input power" is far less on the MLs, even ridiculously low. An 8" woofer that only handles 8.5 watts?

The non-ML 8" is 2.5ohm whereas the ML is 6ohm, so evidently they are different. Does anyone know the diameter of the hole for it in the rear shelf, and also if the amp back there is full range or pre-amp crossed over, or the speaker passively?

Anyone know what kind of amplification these systems use?

I'll say having 6.5-7" speakers all around is a pretty great start compared to some cars. Is the single rear 8" speaker in the back low pass filtered to act as a subwoofer of some sorts? Seems odd to have only one.

Looking to buy a pair of speakers for the rear passengers', can i safely say that it is a pair of coaxial speakers? Any recommended ones? I just upgraded the fronts and also added a processor and changed the woofer. Now looking to upgrade the rear for a "complete" feel. Any brackets and adapters i should get as well?

I would assume the sub is low-passed as the drivers in the front doors certainly are.

I have a ML system, and the sub rattles,

What's the best option to replace the sub?

For sub replacement on the non-ML, I read on another post that a dual voice coil 8" sub is a great replacement for the rear center sub. If get a 4 ohm speaker and you wire the two voice coils in parallel, you'll get a lower impedance that will get close to the factory 2.5 ohm speaker.

Has anyone used an MB-Quart DS-1 204? for the rear sub? This is a shallow mount. I'd like to use it without adding an amp. I know adding an amp would be better, but working in steps.

What sized speakers did u get for the front? And did you use a bracket? The OEM size is 7" so it's not the same as a 6.5" aftermarket......

I was going to get 4 of these for the doors.
