Default Has the actuated FSport tach/speedo ever gotten stuck?

I have a 2015 IS250 FSport which, of course, has the actuating/shifting tach/speedo. I try not to shift it too often because I'm paranoid about it getting stuck or otherwise breaking in an off-neutral position. Is there any history of this happening?

I have a 2014 and have never had that issue. I do remember a couple of years back reading that someone did get it stuck. The issue though was not with the tach but with the steering wheel button not responding.

That's good, at least in the case of the steering wheel button not responding, it should at least return to the center.

On my 2014 the gauge block was replaced at 16k km because it was making a grinding noise. No problems since, but I also like to avoid playing with it too much, just in case..

how loud of a grinding noise? it is certainly not silent and the demo video's never show this... did not realize until I saw this in person
anyways seems noisy under normal operation, no?

I'm not sure, because I've had my car since this September and the replacement was done in 2015... but I believe it had to be pretty bad.
Under normal operation it's not completely silent, but when you are driving and listening to some music, you definitely shouldn't hear it. It's just a light "bzzzzz" sound when it moves.

I use mine daily, never had issue. Time will tell though. At the end of the day is still a Toyota product, so I'm not worried 🙂

How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie-Pop?!?
