I don't read those ever... car reviews are all biased to the writer. The only review I trust is my own when I experience the car in person

"Lack of overt feedback" in the joystick... guess he didn't try turning up the feedback in the menu?

Also, "308" horsepower?

Speaking of horses, this review, in terms of fact-checking, is horse-you-know-what. And they have to be lying about the gas mileage, or have been driving like complete jerks. My IS 300 AWD gets better mileage in the city than this 350 RWD did, and I don't baby it.

Maybe I am biased but I definitely think that this article was a bit Harsh. Jalopnik is definitely good at crafting click bait. Their headlines get more than any other automotive periodical. And yea, I thought the exact same thing about the joy stick lol...

"The most performance-minded enthusiasts may pine for a manual gearbox. Yet, this lack of a three-pedal option doesn’t negate the fact that the IS has enough grip, grunt, and gravitas to satisfy the sport-minded, luxury-loving masses, and quite possibly, outshine its German and Michigander adversaries."

I'd go with an R&T and Motortrend review any day. Jalopnik is the master of click-bait..

One thing i will agree on the article is the really lazy feeling transmission. I test drove a 2017 IS 350 F Sport in the canyons and it shifts extremely slow compared to the dual clutch transmission in my 2011 Audi S4 and my older Evo X. However, the dual clutch in t can get "clunky" in city driving and its not very smooth like a traditional automatic.
