There's essentially little lag with the actual physical turbocharger, Lexus rates it as producing full 258 ft lbs of torque from 1,650 RPMs. So, aside from takeoff, such as in gear, during passing maneuvers, the turbo offers full pressure pretty quick and the car gets going.
The "lag" people are talking about here is indeed a lag, but not from the turbocharger. It is a tuning parameter designed by Lexus to limit the throttle angle until a certain RPM.
Why Lexus did this is anyones guess but the leading theories is to not trample on the 350 (my theory from a while back) in terms of 0-60. Because we know similar 2.0 turbo powerplants in other makes (BMW, Mercedes, Audi) that offer turbo 6s, do 0-60 in 5 seconds or so. or Mid 5s. And that would easily be faster than the 350.
So yes there's lag, but it only really affects standing start takeoffs (unless you brake torque) then the rear sticky summer tires will light up. Don't ask me how I know =D

I had mine wrapped with red and I thought it made a big difference! It was vinyl wrapped. I had a guy do it for me. Totally worth the $100 I spent. He also smoked out the bumper reflector as well.

Hey, I realized that some people prefer the 14-16 tail lights on the IS, is there anyone with 17-20 tail lights looking to trade? mine are in perfect condition.
