Default Who's planning to keep their 3IS until 4IS comes out?

Hi all,

I leased a 2014 IS350, which I loved enough and cared about way too much to just return it, so I purchased it at the end of lease. Now I'm thinking what's next? I'm not looking to change cars, but I'm thinking what my options are. I had a 2013 335, wife currently drives a C-class so those aren't options.Audi looks like VW, the Giulia is too expensive (dealers not moving from MSRP) and not reliable, Volvo is not sporty enough, Jaguar XE has an ugly interior, not too attracted by the Q50. It's all meh... I realize I'm still in love with my 3IS, so why change it?

To sum it up I'm thinking about keeping my 3IS until the 4th generation comes out, crossing my fingers it won't take them 8 years this time...

When is the 4th gen due? The 3rd gen started production in 2013 and the previous generations were 7 ~ 8 years running. Is it safe to say that maybe by model year 2020 we'll see the 4th gen?

The issue with the 3rd gen was that the mid model refresh was super weak. Now the car feels stale. It should have had a big engine upgrade and inclusion of CarPlay / Android in their infotainment system. Also, what lux car doesn’t offer memory seats as standard? It’s a good car for the price but I’m disappointed that there isn’t a higher end model to better compete with the S4 and 340

i’ll probably end up with the 4th gen as long as the 350 has the TTV6 and there’s an F model, otherwise i might look into audi or BMW

My lease isn't up till 2020, so I might end up with a 4IS if it's released by then. I am tempted to upgrade before then, but I'll try and wait it out! If it ends up being a 2021 model, not sure what route I will take. Might end up with a 2020/2019 for a bit before jumping to the 4IS, wouldn't be so bad I guess.

If you are not a brand snob the Kia Stinger should start hitting dealerships this December. It can be had with a twin turbo V6 with 365HP/375ft pounds torque for just under 40K. With all the bells and whistles it goes up to about 50K.

I want to test drive one, but if I were to pick one up I'd get the Kia badges from Korea.

Prefer Lexus, the Q50 red sport has got the TTV6, and @ 400HP is also a very strong proposition, but still prefer Lexus, so will wait...I would say that most people who buy Lexus can't be considered brand snobs... just my 2c

I'm currently driving a 2017 Audi A4 2.0 TFSI while my car 14 IS 350 AWD F sport is in the shop for a fender replacement due to getting tapped.

The DCT is nice and the turbocharged four is quicky, but the toggle switch shifter and all the other electronics really are weird like the car shutting off at a light. And the electronic parking brake. I could swap the rental for a C or a 3 series but I'd rather drive this until I get my IS back. I'm looking forward to the next generation 4IS, but the thought of getting into a refreshed '18 IS has crossed my mind. There's something nostalgic about a naturally aspirated V6 (in a time where all the competitors are running turbos), a mechanical shift gate for automatic transmission and a mechanical parking brake I guess....

My lease is up in 2019 Summer, might lease a new 3IS then and just wait for the 4ISF. Might also consider an RCF but the ISF would be the ideal car. Time will tell. Lexus would be smart to debut the next gen ISF by 2019 so they can stay relevant since the 3IS is already old news.

If It has car play. God, I think I would jump to any rear wheel drive luxury sedan that had carplay at this point. I hate factory infotanment.
