Default considering an IS 200t

i've been a lurker on this forum for a couple of years but i'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a IS. i have some questions before i do.

1. i was told by the salesman at the lexus dealership that most 200t's don't come with the luxury package but i really like having memory seats in my g37 and the side mirrors that tilt down when the car is put into reverse are a nice touch. i took the saleman's comment about the luxury package being rare with a grain of salt because another salesman at the same dealership told me that most of the second generation IS that were sold didn't have a sunroof because most people didn't want one. it just so happened that the one that he wanted to sell me didn't have a sunroof! how convenient!

2. does anyone know how much the incentives are for a 2017 IS are? i've seen them listed as low as $2500 on one or two websites and as high as $5500 on edmunds.

3. what would be a fair amount to pay? the one that i'm looking at was driven by an employee and has approximately 9000 miles on it. the msrp is $43,800, which i would never pay for a car which will be last years model within the next month or so but it's too soon for kbb or nada to evaluate the 2017 models value just yet. i read somewhere that it's normal to deduct 20 to 30 cents for every mile that a car has on it if it isn't new. does that sound reasonable?

4. has anyone seen pictures of the 2018 IS model and are there any changes from the 2017 model? i saw the spec sheet that someone posted on this forum and how some of the packages have changed but if there haven't been any cosmetic changes to the 2018 models i can save a little money by going with a 2017 instead.

any info or advice would be greatly appreciated!

i would demand at least 25-30% off msrp for a 9000 mile vehicle, if it has full warranty.

$43,800 seems way too high considering I've seen people comment on other threads that they paid around the same or less for a brand new one OTD.

Do you mean the window sticker of the vehicle when new was 43,800? Because if your saying 43k is the asking price for it currently, take your business elsewhere.

Who cares if an employee drove it, it was driven and a years worth of depreciation alone puts the car no where near 43k.

I would say wait until around the holidays ..... Their December to Remember sales event has always produced great deals for us. But yeah. your dealership needs to come down drastically off the price for the used dealer car.

i guess i should have been a bit more clear about their asking price. the sticker price is $43,474 but the price that i was offered was $40,454. lexus has a $2500 incentive for the is 220t so the salesman only lowered the price another $520 on top of the incentive from the sticker price. i don't think that it would be very hard to get a 2018 is for $1000 off the sticker price by the end of the year and be able to get all of the options that i want.

this still seems extremely high when i've seen some 2016 models going for $29,000 - $31,000 with the same options as the 2017 model that i'm looking at and i'm pretty sure that the 2016 models didn't depreciate almost $10,000 after one year. i'm thinking that an offer in the neighborhood of $34,000 before ttl should be enough to get the car. i won't pay more than that.

also, i know that the 2014 -2017 f sport 200t's don't have memory seats as an option but for anyone with the base model was it pretty easy to find one with memory seats? i've looked at a number of used 2014 -2017 base IS 's for sale online and there doesn't seem to be many with memory seats listed. i was told that most people who wanted memory seats had to wait 4-5 months because the had to be specially ordered from the factory but again i took that with a grain of salt.

You need to be more clear if you'd like help... is it an F-Sport or not (at that price id assume it is)? Is the 40,454 price OTD? You mention "options" but fail to give them to us to be able to reference...

Either way, do a quick search on autotrader and you can see for yourself that there are plenty of 2017's going in ranges from 30-35k with less than 9000 miles. Like ssmoked said above, knock of like 25-30% off MSRP and then try to work a deal, otherwise walk.

- side note, I paid less than what you're being offered for my 2016 is200t F-Sport brand new last year just a few months before the 2017 released (and the MSRP was around 46k).

ok, here's more info

the IS that i'm looking at is a 2017 non f- sport with nav, premium package, premium plus package, the accessory package, blind spot monitor, and the intuitive parking assist. the sticker price of that combo according to edmunds is $43,140 and the invoice price is $40,155. they are asking a selling price of $36,500 and $39,000 after ttl and fees while other dealerships in texas have their used 2017 IS's with approxiamately the same amount of miles and the same options listed for $39,000 before ttl. i just noticed that edmunds added $907 for a regional adjustment which is probably the reason that the same car with the same options is less expensive in other parts of the country listed on autotrader.

being that the car already has 9000 miles on it and is considered used even though it hasn't been titled shouldn't the dealership have to eat the $995 destination fee even though the car that i'm looking at still qualifies for the $2500 factory incentive?

just look though this thread I linked below and you'll see what others paid. It's ultimately up to you if you want to purchase it. I personally wouldn't pay that much for it.
Another thing, it was driven 9000 miles by an employee who probably didn't care less how he treated it (just a thought)

it looks like the price of the 2018 model only increased by $500 with similar options compared to the 2017 model. i might wait to see how long it takes before the dealership starts discounting the newer models. thank you to everyone who replied to my thread.

Don't do it... get another g37 with the sport package. Your going to be disappoint. I love the look of the car and the fact that it's rwd but a basic Honda accord will pass by you on the highway with a better interior.

Too much. I bought a new non-nav base model for $33,000.

Toyota has crippled the performance of the 8AR-FTS motor from the factory, but it has a lot of potential of making more power than the 3.5 V6 with some added bolt ons. Its the beauty of forced induction!

Yes I understand that people don't want to modify their car, but for those who are willing then it can be fun.
