Default Remote control windows

For those that don't know, this option can be programmed by your local Lexus dealer.

Neat little option

I saw a video recently that let you roll up all the windows if the lock button is held down.
Is this possible through factory program?

Found it. Looks like Saudi IS comes with some cool things that we don't get.

I was told no, which reminds me of the feature on the BMW E46, the remote can bring it down but not back up...

That's the same answer I got from my dealer. But I don't see why not.
From the looks of it, it is available to certain countries but may be safety issues in the United States that will not allow this.

e46 can be programmed for both up and down. I had that in mine. Lots of stuff you can program in those cars actually, including key memory attached to climate control settings.

was kinda surprised that the is didn't allow it to close with the key.

In my GS and previous RX you could program the remotes with the HVAC settings. Never tried when I had my IS.

An alternative is with the carista obd2 app + obd2 bluetooth/wifi dongle.
They do a monthly subscription type of deal instead of a one time payment to unlock features.
I bought a bluetooth obd2 dongle because i have an android, i think its wifi only for iphones. I was able to set it to open all windows on unlock/physical key holding in unlock, and close all windows with the little physical key holding it in the lock position. I set it to unlock all doors one 1 "unlock" button press, but that's also doable through the car settings. I was also able to turn off the no seatbelt chime through the app.

So I new to lexus for the most part, do you just go to the dealer and ask them to program the remote to roll down the windows? Stupid question but not sure why this has to be done and isn't a feature already on the car?

More or less you goto the Dealership and ask about the Lexus Personalized Settings. Some people might find it inconvenient for windows to open if you hold the unlock button.

Here's a thread that discusses this a little more, and also thread about the carista app i mentioned previously.
