BlackDots on Starfire Pearl Not Coming Off
Hi All,
I have an IS 250 2015 Base model. Color: Starfire Pearl.
I was installing a lip spoiler(3M tape), then I noticed black dots on the trunk. (Please check pictures) I'm not sure what it is. I tried using a clay bar but its still there. Any help of suggestion? Thank you.

This should work. Just make sure not to cut too much because you want to preserve the factory orange peel so it looks uniform with the rest of the car. If you're not comfortable doing this, look for a good detailer in your area and they should be able to take care of it. It probably won't be very cheap though.

Weird. Take it to a dealer. Not easy to diagnose that over the internet.
You could try a bottle of scratch x and microfiber first.

I'd say if that doesn't take it out, then you're probably looking at wet sanding. shouldn't be that hard for a small area.

Might be artillery fungus? Turns out my office has had a rash of that recently. Takes a lot of effort to get off, but it will.

if that's not the surface a clay bar or even a buff won't have any affect. i think it's just a flaw in the paint (like it didn't get mixed well or something) and will need to be repainted. but that's just me. good luck.
