Key fob problem

Recently installed bags on my Lexus, so I had to disconnect the battery. But ever since none of my keys unlock, or lock the car, but once I'm inside the car it turns on perfectly fine. Wondering if there is way to reconnect the key fob's back to the car so the buttons work. Thanks!

Disconnecting the car battery doesn't do anything to the key fobs or their programming.

Does the trunk button work on the fob?
Does the Panic button work on the fob?
Do you see the light on the top right of the face of the fob light up when you press any button?
What does it do when you press Lock or Unlock?

Nothing happens when I press any of the buttons. The light on the fob is red anytime I press anything.

The good news is it sounds like the fobs are ok...if you can see the red light and it's fairly bright, and the vehicle starts once the key are anywhere in the car, then the fob and fob batteries should be fine.

By any chance when you installed the bags, did you remove the trim panels on the left side of the rear seats to run any wires or lines?
Does the instrument cluster show you your TPMS readings?

I realize those are two weird questions, there's a reason I ask.

Yeah, but we removed the passenger side panels to run the wires, and the cluster does not show TPMS readings, just a PCS and Traction Control light.

The TPMS readings for the tires are found in the information screens when you scroll through them.
I believe if you press down on the right directional controller on the right side of the steering wheel it will scroll through until you reach the tire pressure readings.
They usually appear after a minute or so of driving. If you can drive for several minutes and not see the readings appear, then something is not right.

I asked about the drivers side rear panels because that is where the Door Control and TPMS receiver is. Is detects the signals from the TPMS sensors and the fob.
If it's unplugged or not working, then the fobs won't work and the TPMS readings won't appear in the information screen.
I wonder if a fuse for the Receiver may be blown.
The 2 fuses that feed it are the 10A J/B-AM and 10A ECU-IG1 NO.1...they are found under the drivers lower dash panel on the left side. I suggest a quick check to make sure they are ok.
And double check to make sure if you are getting the tire pressure readings appearing or not.

You can try reprogramming the keys via dealer or buying the Techstream cable.

side question, does air ride make you lose traction control?

ahothi 06-07-17 06:24 PM

Thanks! I'm pretty sure it's the fuse box by the drivers lower dash panel because we took it out to see where we can run the remote to.

I've had air ride for about 2 days now, and as far as I can tell my traction is fine.

Ah nice, im planning to get air ride, was just a bit of a eye brow raiser.

It sounds like maybe the FOB antenna is disconnected, if that's a thing.

That would do it. Maybe one of the connectors for the fuse box is not plugged in, not plugged in all the way, or not plugged into the right port.
Let me know what you find.
