Default Lexus Paint Protection Question

I am from Canada and recently purchase a new IS from the dealership with the paint protection package around 5 months ago. I recently examine my car and noticed i got couple rock chips that expose the metal on my hood. Isn't the whole part of the paint protection suppose to protect the front hood? Do you guys my rock chip will be fixed up by Lexus under my paint protection plan? Thanks.

You should review what the package entitles.. but, I'm assuming the package will allow you to have it TOUCHED-UP by the dealers free of charge. (They usually don't charge you anyways when you go for service).

Honestly, the only way to have chip free paint is through a clear bra. I made the mistake of not getting one when I bought the car. Now, I have to touch-up myself once in a while.

Touch-up will never look perfect. If you want to make it close to invisible, you need to sand and polish. Which you should only do if you know what your're doing.

If you can't tell the touch-up spot from 10ft away it should be OK.

I will definitely not sanding it. Not going to make a mess out of this. I already email the dealer and waiting to see what they say. I actually don't even think they provided me with the paint protection brochure...I actually got both paint protection and rush protection.
