Default base to fsport gauges, is it possible? anyone done it?

F Sport gauges are amazing and I was thinking of changing mine to it. I saw some used ones on ebay. I was wondering if its just plug and play or what. Hoping someone has done it before. Also checking lexuspartsnow.com, with the VIN i provided F Sport meters are compatible

I don't think it's possible to swap, that's why no one here has tried it.
Your best bet is to purchase an F-Sport instead of a base model.

It would certainly be nice to see if it can be done.
Looking at the wiring diagram is looks like the connectors are the same no matter to Combination Meter (Gauges) you have.
However, depending on production year, there are a handful of wires that are in a different pin slot within the connector.
So, if you really want to give it a try, to make it the easiest for you, get a gauge set from the same year as your IS.
There is no absolute guarantee it would work, but I think there is a high probability it will once you get gauges from the same year from the same engine family (get one from any V6 if you have a V6, or get one from a turbo if you have a turbo)

Here is the listing for all the clusters for a 2016 IS350. I would suggest contacting your local dealer and just ask what the Part# is for your 2017 and an F Sport IS350 2017...at least you compare below to see if it's the same.
This is from mylparts.com.

Problem with the local with our local dealer is they are very secretive about their part numbers, they told me they want parallel importers. So getting the part number from them is a no no.

You can also use the VIN decoder on mylparts.com. I'm not sure if they have 2017 part numbers loaded, but it's worth a shot.
