in addition to the obvious outside bumper /grill stuff, For me the F Sport is worth it due to the seats alone. And black headliner... some may disagree. Here are some more:

I like the F Sport suspension, shocks are specific (springs too, but people tend to change those out)
Summer tire option
18" wheels which i love
LED headlights

Seats w/ ventilation
Brake booster has a specific part# to the F-Sport
Brake pads have a specific part#

Gauges (digital)
black headliner
aluminum pedals
aluminum sills
interior trim (metal look)
rioja red seats (F Sport only)

I don't have mine anymore, but mine was also a non-F Sport. Like you I liked the exterior looks better and disliked the black headliner, but it was the missing features on the F Sport that really killed it for me.
i like the black headliner because its premium. Like every time I see a base IS with a tan or gray headliner or base CT200h with a standard headliner, the blackheadliner jumps out in comparison and looks premium. Just my 2 cents

My GS has the black headliner. I've warmed up to it now. Back when I was buying my IS (in late 2013) the black headliner made the interior feel so dark and closed in. I think the larger GS cabin helps to mitigate that, but I don't think it would be a problem for me on the IS now, like it was in 2013. I'm pretty used to it.

its the same in BMW land... black headliner means ///M. I believe all the regular models have gray. So I'm used to black being premium or (upgraded) plus I think the material/texture is slightly different in BMW world... i'm not sure about Lexus.

Yeah, BMW has used it for years. It's just something I had to get used to.

For me, I preferred both the exterior and interior styling to the non-F-Sport model, especially the option of red on the interior as well as the front grill. I might also be an outlier in that I like the stock F Sport wheels. The seats feel much more sporty and still comfortable to me, which I like. I do wish I had memory seats and some of the safety features, but I would prioritize the driving experience over that - the gauges and suspension tuning on the F Sport help in that regard.

Honestly, I didn't test drive a luxury-trimmed model at all, but I did take a look at the interior. Based on the gauges, etc. I pretty much already knew I wanted the F Sport.

It's going to come down to the test drive and your tastes I guess.

I chose the F-Sport for two reasons: I loved the white exterior and red interior that was not available on the base model, and the extra features like the LFA gauges. The white/red appearance reminded of my old Datsun 280ZX that I owned back in my bachelor days.

I was dead set on a non F Sport until I realized the things that I like about the F Sport made the extra money worth it. The gauge cluster, seats, perforated leather steering wheel and shift **** and black headliner made it worth it. To me the regular gauge cluster seems too basic.

F sport package is $3000, the LED headlights, seats and cluster is worth it alone. Black headliner, shift ****, aluminum pedals, and exterior is just a plus, and other stuff i'm missing.

IF you go for Luxury u gotta get TOP OF THE LINE like my previous IS350 AWD 2011, resell value will be good too, U gotta get all option and feature no button missing any feature of the car. I just traded in for the Gen3 IS350 F-sport.

What i like about F-sport = Cluster, Seat, Wheel, AVS (Adaptive variable suspension)
What i like about Luxury = Auto Tilt steering wheel, Auto headlight, Sunshade.

In reality different between the 2 is the AVS beside cosmetic looks, suspension is the different between the 2, Fsport grill or Luxury has its own unique look depend on which one you refer, LFA cluster ? no one sees it but yourself, wheels ? you can get better wheel than Fsport, suspension ? you can get Air-suspension or better upgrades than Fsport, Mark Levinson is just more speaker both can play DVD that's the whole point to me. And ya both has issue with "Navigation reboot by itself" Lexus can't Fix !

Fsport bumper looks cool but Luxury bumper looks cute ! i like both.

Gen3 Fsport sounds like LFA, its like ouwwwwwwwwwwwwww when i go WOT, the 2011-2013 IS350 go ROARRRRRRRRRRRRR when i WOT. i like the gen3 noise more.

I love my 2014 IS350 AWD F sport..it's black on black.

But it I were to replace it today it would be a IS350 in Eminent White Pearl with the Flaxen interior. I think I like the 2017 non F sport refresh better, thinking how it would look with just the F sport grille and lowered, especially with the machined face five spoke wheels.. I think it looked classy and more low key and maybe sleeperish. It's the same engine. I am getting used to the new F Sport, but it looks like there is too much going on for how much hp the car puts out...

Real leather seats, dual gauges for tachometer and speedometer and a naturally aspirated six, this combo is becoming rare. Correct me if I am wrong, but Audi, BMW and Mercedes already jumped ship going with smaller displacement/four cylinder turbos.

Not going to lie, this is a pretty accurate description! I love the sound of the 300/350, which is amplified in the F Sport.

The sound generator is standard on all 350s, F Sport and non. Not sure about the 300s.
