my co-worker told me i'll be fine yep there people driving around with no front plate, you're right front plate is useless, it's just Government money grab bro, they charge more tax with double plate. i'm really sick of Wynn and Tory.

Yes it's Factory HID, but i notice weird thing, my previous 2011 IS350 luxury package headlight turn up and down every time i start the car, this gen3 one does not do that.

plate covers tinted may get harrassed for or reason to be pulled over, although may people have plate covers.

the tow hook plate relocate should be fine, i've had mine on for a while now no issues w/ popo.

there are lots of cars running side plate , standard stock like mitsubish etc..

Thanks bro sounds good, i'm thinking about it too, tow hook is the best spot and sexy for our Gen3 IS, do you know where to get one bro?

Hey Solara350, your 2011 likely had the self leveling headlights which do a startup check when you turn the car on, which is that up and down motion you noticed. The F-Sport doesn't have it, likely still on the luxury package.

Good question about the front plate mounting location. I don't think there is anything in the HTA that says it has to be in the middle. I'm going to have a look cause I'd like to do the tow hook mount eventually too.
And not every car the factory front mount is in the center anyways, soooo.....

Found it way faster than I thought...this is from Ontario Regulation 628, Section 9 sub 3 of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

(3) The number plates for a motor vehicle, other than a motorcycle or a motor assisted bicycle, shall be attached to and exposed in a conspicuous position on the front and rear of the motor vehicle. R.R.O. 1990, Reg. 628, s. 9 (3).

i got mine off eBay or Amazon was 60$ ...ijdm toy ..you need loc tite to tighten it ..it will spin and no car washers not recommended lol...there's others like grimspeed but all depends on what you opt for. My plate was originally in the middle wasn't to bad but I was going for a rice look

So that mean it's ok to mount at the tow hook position ? 'conspicuous means "easy to see" hmm i'm gonna order one.

I would definitely say so. I've seen some in eastern Ontario already.

that HTA law doesn't make sense sounds silly!!!

as long as they can see it's fine if they don't and think then likely that's his reason to pull u over !!!

id recommend a thin light smoke cover or a plate frame..I'll be getting those soon ...looks terrible with plate only imo
