each quote is different with different companies. Some overlook details while some just want to dump higher risk policy holders by increasing rates. For me Statefarm was 500 cheaper every six month compared with every (literally) company i quoted with

This liability coverage is very low... I would strongly recommend increasing those limits... In Alberta, the government requires minimum $200,000 and a significant majority of policies have $1M. I personally have $2M. Liability coverage is fairly cheap compared to collision and comprehensive coverage.

Agreed, I had lowered it to save money with my previous Mazda but I should, and will, increase it by my next renewal. My premium would be about $80 higher increasing coverage to $100,000 personal liability each person/$300,000 personal liability each accident/$50,000 property damage liability.

Strangely, Progressive Direct Insurance does not offer me coverage higher than $250,000 personal liability each person/$500,000 personal liability each accident/$100,000 property damage liability.

On increasing coverage I agree. On shopping around for better prices, I have, and of the several I have gotten quotes for in the past, Progressive has always had significantly (and surprisingly) lower prices for me... I don't know why completely, but I have been with Progressive for 18 years now and am getting some additional discounts for loyalty and of course there's large accident forgiveness I have earned. But upon my next renewal, I will do more price shopping. Thanks,

why not just add it now and pay the prorated rate. Accidents do not wait until next renewal

Pushing 60 with zero claims for over 30 years, 500 deductible, no liens and excellent credit score. The 2016 NX is only $230 every six months.

Got it. I'm missing the age, claims, $50/100 deductible and a high performance coupe

I have 300/300/100, I'm 53, two hail claims, mine is $433 every six months from Allstate with a $100 deductible on Comprehensive and $400 on Collision, rental, uninsured motorist, . There are so many factors that can cause your rate to decrease or increase.

If one wanted to get the min, and a $1000 deductible waive uninsured motorist, no rental etc. then one could save a lot of money.

10/30/10 is a joke, need to raise it asap. If you hit me and total my car, my insurance company would sue you until bankruptcy

I kinda understand... I think I'm in the same boat, where I am paying the same as some people who have much more coverage, so it's hard to raise those. I plan to on my next renewal, but it is going to suck.

I am 28, have no accidents (just one claim for a door ding that was expensive to fix), and discounts. I wonder if it's because my significant other has had a couple of tickets in the past couple of years, and we're on the same policy. Not sure, my credit score and driving record are well above average, so idk. I switched from Geico to Nationwide because Geico was charging even more (which my Nationwide agent was actually visibly surprised to hear).

yup your partner that you live with is dragging your rate up for sure. Make sure to quote every single company you can find online and physically for best possible rate.

Why wait until next renewal? Accidents don't wait.

i am a few years older and have 250/500/100 and $50/100 deductible, uninsured, extra medical, rental, tow and 6 month premium is around 960.

My car is also a v8 coupe msrp in the low 70s. I had to shop around 10 companies to get that rate. Some places want 50% more
