Agree this is good stuff. I've had the 5D on my interior panels for about 10 months and it's holding up well. It really looks like CF, the gloss top obviously isn't as thick as the real stuff but it looks good. I recently wrapped my mirror stalks with it and after 2 months it still looks good even exposed to the outside. Next step is to wrap the mirror covers which are currently plastidipped.

Also, I think this wrap looks good with Rioja Red as well. . The glove box is the most impressive part.

RocketG35, for the mirror stalk, do you have any more pictures of how you wrapped it? Did you have to use the knifeless tape?

also I forgot to mention that there are two different styles the 5D carbon fiber wrap ...I used the stuff that just came out on the market ... the stuff that rocket G 35 has is not as glossy there is a definite difference when you see them in person the new stuff looks identical to carbon fiber and is called 5D reflective here's an example so you can see

Ah...there's a new version. I may need to check that out as I was about to wrap my mirror caps. I have a lot of the "basic" stuff though....probably worth just playing around with it to get better at wrapping.

Default yup

Yes like I mentioned the new stuff is very thick and has a super high gloss on it so that's what makes it not very pliable on aggressive curves it works really good on flat surfaces but as an example if you were to try to use this on your mirror caps I don't think it would work I messed with it on several different items that had pretty aggressive curves I was not able to get it to adhere to it very well

It was a bit of a pain. No knifeless tape. Just scissors and lots of patience! I made a rough template after doing the first side so that I could make the 2nd side quicker. It was not easy because of all the curves and how the top/bottom edges have different angles. The wrap connects on the window side so its cleaner...its not perfect by any means, but it works for me.

My wrap actually goes under the mirror cap and also under the part that meets the door for as clean a look as possible. I've seen people wrap the stalk and just cut the top and bottom off...but you can sometimes see the top of the stalk that way and on white cars, its may show up.

I can share the template, but its pretty rough and needs polishing. If i get a chance to clean it up, i'll post it. It should speed things up for you.
