Well my cousin car decided to break down on her and she is in need of a new car. She always wanted a hybrid so I'm like why don't you buy the ct200h off of me instead. Long story short, I bid my ct200h farewell and go car shopping. Was debating between Audi S3, BMW m235i, Volvo S60 R, or the IS.

In the end, even though the German car r a blast to drive and always put a big smile on my face when I test drive, I chicken out on them and went with Lexus yet again for reliability n peace of mind. I never own a German car before but I always heard horrid story that they breakdown and cost a fortune. Financially wise, I can afford all of these cars BUT I don't think my bank/paycheck is deep enough to cover the high repair expenses

Some pro and con from my personal experience with my new 3IS
Pros:
--the fit and finish is really high end. Moving on from the ct200h, the fit n finish of the 3IS is in another realm when compare to my old hybrid Lexus despite it only being 3k more in price (my ct200h cost me 38k OTD and my 3IS cost 41k OTD). It even blow the German out as well, BMW is terrible and Audi s3 interior got scale down way too much while Volvo just look dated

-- the smooth ride quality, basically cloud like ride quality and good road noise isolation. I still can't believe at how much the ride improve when comparing the 3IS to the ct200h. Don't get me wrong, the ct is very comfortable, it just that when compare to the 3IS, it simply can't compete. Really show that the ct200h underneath is still a Toyota while the IS is practically Lexus built quality from the ground up

--radio quality, I didn't get the premium Harman sound but even with the base, it still beat my ct200h premium sound system.

--engine is buttery smooth, no hiccup what so ever

Cons:
--despite having 300 horses, the engine feel quite lazy at low speed. I even dare say my ct200h feel faster at low speed when comparing to the IS due to the hybrid instant torce. It doesn't really come to life till about 3500 to 40000 rpm. A bit disappointed

--my MPG is at 16 combine wtf ????? That is even worst then the 8 cylinder engine that the RCF/GSF get isn't it ? I mean I came from 4 years plus driving a hybrid so I'm sure my driving habit has been train quite well to drive conservatively. Man if this is my mpg, I wonder what it really like when I start to drive it a bit more spirited

Congrats. I wouldn't say the "germans" are "Terrible." The BMW F30 3-Series is really high quality in materials, fit and finish. The BMW has superior door, trunk opening and closing feel. I think a lot of Lexus buyers want to suddenly start attacking "the other side" without good reason. Entitlted to your opinion though. There's beauty in all cars =) I came from a CT200h too. I was actually quite happy with my CT200h feel. The front doors (for the 14+) feel slightly superior to the IS in terms of closing. Lexus engineers had a special assignment to ensure the 2014+ CT200h doors felt and sounded good when closing. The IS doors and trunk feel a bit cheap. I remedied the front doors a little with some strategic dynamat application

And by the way my BMWs were the absolute most reliable cars I've ever owned. Over 200,000 driving miles on several and never a single breakdown. Absolutely robust.
