The bottoms are still dirty. So while I'm in there, I simply wipe a few more feet up the B pillar. You won't really be cleaning any less. It just looks better.

Resurrecting this thread. I have this door seal parts and am ready to install on my IS350. I know that this DIY describes 'simply' lifting upward on the chrome trim. I'd like to verify that that is the safe/right/best way to do it, in case anyone has further info. Reason I ask is the below...
This link seems to suggest, based on one of the images (under 15b) to slide the chrome trim forward first.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ndow-trim.html
And this youtube video (admittedly on a 2nd gen IS) also shows the rear trim being moved forward slightly first (after the 3 min mark in the video). In fact I'm wondering whether just sliding it forward by itself will be enough to install the seal's tab underneath the chrome trim?
Thanks for any further input...

The post is pretty self-explanatory. The trim lifted upward with minimal effort and went back down into place 100%. They're just pressure-fit clips.
Though if you want to try sliding the trim "forward" first, try it and let us know how it works out.

So I ended installing mine today. I did go the route of sliding the trim forward slightly first and then fairly easily lifting the front end. The passenger side slid quite easily. The driver's side needed more effort, including wiggling the trim a bit to break some binding. Working out nicely / looks good.
After sliding chrome trim forward.
Front edge moved forward as well and naturally lifted a bit.
Easy to lift and get more room to insert rubber trim.
As others have noted, for the upper outside corner of the rubber to not stick out, I trimmed very slightly... shown here where the tape meets the trim.
Rubber trim top flap/tab inserted.

Even my CT200h has these stock. I hope Lexus spent a few pennies on the IS refresh to add these on.

Today I also installed door seals, it's very simple if you do it as shown in the video. I didn't even open the windows, I just moved the molding and lifted it up a little.
