Got the Itch to Lower the Car... Need some Advice

Simple, the rolling diameter with thr tire specs is different, plus different offset wheels give different visuals, plus the angel the pix is taken. Best to see in person and decide what is acceptable to u. Personally I wanted the most minimum of drops.

Yes. I did, lol. Nice bike!
I ride a CBR600. It's racking up quite a bit of miles already 30,000+. Probably going to be the last season with it then looking to upgrade for next season. Maybe an R1, but I'm short and it sits a little too high lol.

thank you, bought it last year and rode it twice so far. its a 2008 R1 with only 3200 miles.
CBR600's are nice bikes as well.
wow that is a decent amount of miles.
im short too...lol. 5'4'' and I can touch enough to control it at the stop lights. didn't want to drop it like I did my last bike because it negatively affects the handling.
def look into the R1's man, don't let the height discourage you. you could always drop it if you really needed to.

Wow. Yeah I'm 5'4" as well. 5'5" if it's a good day lol.
I was looking at S1000RR because I saw the seat height a little lower but my favorite look is the R1 for sure.
I was also sold lowering links for the 600 but decided not to put them on due to the fact that I like twisty roads and I don't want to sacrifice handling.
Nice to see a fellow rider! Lol.

lol.....
man those s1000rr are so nice, but i had to get used to that headlight configuration.
wish i could afford one....some day maybe.
i hear you about the lowering links and handling, but if you do decide to try a R1i don't think you will you have any issues, the extra inch should be fine....well at least on the good days lol

Definitely will look into an R1. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the R6 but my cousin had one and it was way too high for me. Not sure how it compares to the R1. I'll do some research.

Nope. With the stock wheels not being all that wide there wasn't a need to roll the fenders. When I fully air down like in the picture they camber inwards which makes them clear the fenders. I'd say there is a good 1/2 inch to 1" gap between the tire/whee; and the inner fender.

I had my IS250 on RSR Sports*i Coilovers. Was great! Much sportier feel than stock and adjustable height was clutch. If the IS350 didn't have AVS, I would swap in those coilovers into my new IS350, but oh well. Also with coilovers, was able to put a pretty aggressive wheel size with proper width tires. Didn't have to stretch tires on 9.5 wide wheels. If you have the scratch for it, i'd definitely recommend coils over getting just lowering springs. But depends which model you have too. Good luck!

I had RSR down on before with no scrapping issues.

Now i have RSR blacki coilovers, scrapping issues in the rear. Had to switch out my wheel set to get a more tucked in offset in the rear to fix my rubbing issue
