Default Considering IS350F or Q50s

Looking at getting into a 2014 Is350 F-Sport or a 2015 Q50s. Did any of you compare the two? My best friend just got a 2013 GS350. After driving it, I am really considering a Lexus. Pros and Cons?? Thanks in advance! -Austin

IS no doubt has the best handling, best interior and bullet proof reliability. Q50S has more features (tech stuff) but it is also more expensive. I am not a fan of the touch screen in the Q50S which is a giant fingerprint magnet.

Found this on youtube:

If it makes a difference, I walked a Q50 this past Saturday from a light. I wasn't even looking to race. S+, Traction off, mash the gas..... see ya.

I find that hard to believe. Perhaps the Q50 owner was granny shifting and not double clutching like you should.

Hahahaha. classic. The Q50 is faster no doubt...but it handling isn't as good as the competition. I had an Infiniti for many years and the build quality is lesser than the Lexus for sure.

It wasn't the 400hp Q.. It looked like a loaner from the dealer.

It's still faster. The 2014 model had 330hp.

It was a 2016. the 3.0 has 300hp. The 2.0 4 banger has like 210.

Back to the topic though. If it is the 300hp Q or the 306hp IS, I'm going IS for styling alone.

The Q just looks a little less aggressive IMO.

I stand corrected, kudos to you for having a sense of humor, I thought you were referring to the older Q50s with the 330 horses....

The Q50 3.0T with the 300 HP might be a close race as well given that its got almost the same HP but more torque that comes in sooner.

I would be interested in straight line comparison between the IS350 and the Q50 3.0T but i think handling wise the IS has it in the bag.

The 300 HP tt version is not out yet so you didn't race that. With that said the "300" HP tt is probably going to be faster than the outgoing 3.7 based on dyno numbers of the red sport being pretty underrated. You probably raced a 2.0 t.

Austin, I shopped several cars before deciding on my 2016 IS350 F Sport but the 2014/15 Q50s was my runner up. Unlike others above, I actually preferred the tech & touchscreen monitors on the Q50s over the IS. Of course this is personal preference. After driving them both, if a "sports sedan" is what you're looking for then I'm confident the IS will drive & handle much better then the Q50s. That said, off a straight line, the Q50s will out perform the IS350. All in all, they're both great vehicles but I wanted the aggressive styling and reliability Lexus offered so I moved forward on the IS.

Now the Q50s-Hybid will out drive & clearly smoke my IS350, so if that's option for you...do it!
