Default Velgen VMB5's

Hi All,

I have a white IS350 FSport AWD. and in a couple weeks, or whenever RS-R gets the Down springs back in stock, I plan on lowering my vehicle and purchasing Black Satin Velgen VMB5 wheels.

19x9 - front & 19x10.5 rear.

I was looking on CarID and they have the wheels, but for some reason the tires they do not have. Are there any places that sell both and will they also mount the tires on the wheels itself?

Just wondering as it will be convenient to get them shipped to me and all I'll have to do is just install them.

But, if that's not the case, I believe that running 265's on 10.5" wide wheels will stretch the tire. Do normal tire shops mount tires, stretched?

Thanks!

Why not get the RS-R Downs from eBay? I got them for $251.10 (AWD).

I received them within three days as well.

RS-R Down T197D AWD - Lexus IS

Anyway, as for your wheels, that sounds super aggressive, are you sure they would fit?

Hmm.. haven't even thought about using eBay. I contacted RS-R today via e-mail and they did mention that the springs will be in-stock by the end of the week. If it doesn't become available sometime next week, I may have to just do eBay. But, I'm in no rush really as I am still hunting to tires and whatnot.

Anyway, as far as fitment... I believe they should fit. A member "RayG" has a build thread with the same wheel setup. Well, it looks like he DID, but he ended up selling the VMB5's.

His set up was on coilovers and it looks like it's lower than what RS-R Down's would be. and he only had a minor rubbing issue in the front when the suspension was fully compressed.

Here's a link to his build thread.

RayG!

Thanks! I think I'm practically going with the same setup. Down Springs, VMB5's, 235's up front then 265's in the back.

Definitely recommend vmb5! They fit so well. I'm running 275s in the back and lowered on swift springs. Drop height i believe it's pretty close to RSR downs.

3IS,

I love the set up. I was on the fence about getting Velgen or Vossen's, but I think I really am going to go with the VMB5's. I don't want to get 20's as it looks too big for the car.

19's just look perfect.

You don't have any rubbing issues with 275's?

I rarely have a full car so or fill the trunk up with a lot of stuff but I was going to go with 265's to be safe? But at the same time I don't want my tires to look stretched really.

Another question!

I was just thinking about this, what have you done with the TPMS? Is that something a shop can install a new sensor on the wheel?

Or will I have to buy another sensor?

I'm not rubbing in the rear on a normal basis. When I have two or more people or going on a bump to fast I get a slight rub but nothing serious. 275 is perfect in a 10.5" wheel! The tire shop should be able to remove your stock tpms and install them on the new wheels for you. I'm running -2 camber in the rear btw which helps.

Good to know! Thanks! Does anyone have any pictures of what a 265 vs a 275 looks like on 10.5 inch wide wheel? I just want to see what the major difference is.

Would you recommend..

Front 19x8.5
Rear 19x9.5 or 10

Would this set up minimize any rubbing?

Note: This is not a lowered car.
