So a month ago I sign the papers for a 2016 IS 200t Premium, with the upgraded 18" wheels. Not the F Sport wheels but the Premium Mesh Wheels I believe is what they are called.

Short story, my rear tire blew out from running over a hunk of metal. The tire is NOT repairable and has to be replaced ... Now here is where I'm getting confused.

All I hear about on this board is that the upgraded 18's come with crappy Bridgestone tires ... BUT mine has DUNLOP SP SPORT MAXX 050. What's even throwing me for a bigger loop is that my dealership gave me a loaner which just happen to be a 2016 IS 200t with the Premium Package and Premium Mesh Wheels but they have the Bridgestone ER33 tires ...

Same dealership, same car, same package, same wheels ... DIFFERENT TIRES

It depends.

You're in Florida so your car almost certainly has summer tires. Here in the northeast they usually come with (As well as being AWD, hence why we don't really get 200ts).all season Bridgestone Turanzas.

Some Lexus models come with differing tires though.. the GSs come with Dunlops or Michelins.

The Turanza E33 is a summer tire. I didn't know they come in all season variety

Maybe I'll ask my dealer tonight when I pick up the car ... The Dunlop seem to be a better tire based on what I've been reading but I guess what's confusing me is why does the same car with the same options and the same wheels at the same dealership come with different tires?

Tire Rack list both tires as Original Equipment ...

OEM's do some weird things sometimes. It could be that Bridgestone was behind on production for a while, so Lexus had to provide Dunlops in order to keep the assembly line going. Or it could just be that certain VIN or production dates got Dunlops instead. as long as both are factory options, I wouldn't stress about it.

the dunlops are probably a nicer tire so don't complain that you didn't get the bridgestones!

Yes I'm happy I didn't get the Bridgestones ... Just didn't make sense on why the exact car with the same exact options has different tires.

It depends on the vin, since it only comes with the dunlops in my country. The dunlops actually can serve you up to 60k mile. However it is noisy and after about 10k miles its handling decreases dramatically. If you are paying just get the Michelin PSS or continental dws.

AS3s or DWS 06. Period. Don't look at anything else.

There's a couple of different Turanzas, I think it's the EL400s that we get. Here in the Northeast every single IS that we get is an AWD (We aren't getting any IS200ts or GS200ts for that matter) and has all season tires.

Bridgestone Turanzas suck FWIW.
