Default SLOW TIRE LEAK BRAND NEW 2016 IS200t

Brand new 2016 IS200t. Delivered by broker to my home a week ago.
Tire pressure light came on yesterday and right rear was flat. Filled it with air and it's a slow leak.

Don't think this is covered by tire warranty. But it happening this soon is discouraging.

Suggestions?

Any tire store can fix that.

If it's within a week, I'd go back at the dealer to have them take care of it--not sure how the purchase with a broker impacts your ability to do that.

Well obvious question... Have you checked for a nail?

I had that on my IS when I had about 2k miles on it.

I took it to my local tire shop and they found the nail and fixed it in about 20 minutes, free of charge. Many places will do that.

also depends on where the leak is. If it's near the sidewall, most places won't even attempt to do a repair.

Costco/Sams club will fix it for free if you are a member.

Best bet is to take it to the dealer if the car is that new though.

Shouldn't really concern you based on the timing. Just your luck that you ran something over. Hit the local tire shop or a mechanic you use and they can fix it easily and maybe for free as others have pointed out.

That happened to my IS a month or 2 after we got the car. It was a slow leak, we went to the dealer twice and they couldn't find anything until a 3rd time, they found a little thin nail in the tire. It was removed and everything was good. A week later I get a flat on the highway (my luck). I took it to Lexus and they replaced the whole tire, brand new. It's great when you have their tire warranty package. Just take it to the dealer if you have the warranty. Oh and I didn't pay anything on both occasions.

Thanks for all the replies.
I did take it to my regular tire people. They said the tire could not be repaired and was not safe to drive. The tire is so hard to get they had to do a special order that might take a week.

Put the spare on and told me to take it to Lexus Dealer.
Lexus Service estimated $303 for the tire plus the hourly fee. It's not easy to get Dunlop to honor a factory defect warranty. Everything is 'road hazard'
Again this was 5 days after taking delivery. 100 miles to and from work on good paved roads.
So that's my tale of woe.

hankster22,

I would recommend that you take this up with corporate to see if they could help you if the tire is actually defective.

What was wrong with it? Did they find something in it (road hazard) that you picked up while driving or was there something wrong with the tire itself? You will need to know this or you will never be able to make a case for the tire actually being defective when it was manufactured.

It's definitely possible to pick up something even in 100 miles of driving. I ended up with a totally flat tire one morning when mine was new because there was apparently a bolt on the highway somewhere that I ran over. It happens.

They found no nail but when they put the tire in water, there were bubbles from one spot. Hence a "puncture".
The real problem was the "low pressure" light came on, and with these low profile "sport" tires, you don't feel any difference when it goes flat. So I just drove home the 5 miles from work. That's what ruined the tire.
P.S. Because I was unfamiliar with all the screens, I didn't know you could pull up one that shows the pressure in all 4 tires. Had I seen that, I'd have stopped and saved the tire.
I think I'll put that subject......"screen shots" in a different forum post.
Thanks
