Default Infotainment display anti-glare coating peeling

Anyone else experience this? There was some when I got the car, and it's been getting worse. I'm thinking the previous owner used the wrong cleaner on it.
Any idea on a fix? All I can think of it trying to remove the rest of it and getting an anti-glare screen protector...
Does anyone know how to remove the screen?

It's a known issue with the IS and NX screens. You rub on it and it will peel - nothing to do with cleaners. Got mine on the NX replaced under warranty.

Good luck.

I was looking at some used 2014 IS's over the weekend, and I saw a CPO with one that was even worse than yours. I didn't understand how it could be certified looking like that?

Anyways, looked like rub marks where someone had tried to clean it was a strong cleaner.

Anyone know if this has been improved for the 15 and 16 models?

it can happen with just a damp cloth (water). My guess is the previous owner had a few streaks, then tried to "clean" it more by applying a little more force, hoping to even things out.

It seems to be hit and miss which cars got a screen with bad antiglare adhesion. If your car is under warranty, just clean it as you would normally expect. If the coating starts coming off, bring it in to be fixed.

Go get it handled with the TSB. Had the dealer do it the last time I took my car in and it looks great now.

Have the same issue on my 2014 IS350. I did some research and came across this article, https://www.cars.com/articles/2014-1...1420684027618/. I called the dealer but they don't know what it is about so I print that article out and drop by the service center to make an appointment. After the advisor check w/ the service manager, I got an appt. the next day to get this issue fix. Please note that it is not a recall but a service bulletin.

Here is what I did and it looks like new...
- Take an alcohol pad or two and scrub all of that crappy anti-glare stuff off the screen. It will take some work but I was able to get 99% of it off.
- On Amazon I was able to purchase a ScreenPatronus - 2014 Lexus IS250 Navigation Anti-Glare Screen Protector. Its a perfect fit and looks so much better than factory.
-Once you put it on it will look better than new, I can upload photos later.

-I know people are going to say that they would NEVER do this, or dont do that.... here is the deal if your dealer does not replace it for free this option is less than 20 bucks and looks better then Lexus's attempt to anti-glare the screen.

Just a note, this is apart of the technical service bulliten for the 2014-2015 Lexus IS, they will replace it as long as your vehicle is still under warranty.

There is an tsb for your Navi screen. The problem why the anti glare coating is coming off is because people are cleaning them to often and to aggressive. Harsh chemical cleaners with microfiber towels will strip the glare coating, my advice is to use watered down cleaners and a lens cleaning cloth. Wipe it down gently. Had mine replaced under warranty and the glare coating came off because of what I wrote. Caution to all!
