Default Just hit a dog..

So long story short..dog came outta nowhere and I tried to stop but it was too late. There was nothing I could have done in that moment. Hopefully My insurance will have this fixed in no time.

Looks like I'll be needing a new bumper and headlight and the fender is a little damaged as well as my grill trim.
The dog got up as soon as it was hit and ran away and was long gone when I came turned back around to it. I do hope it finds its way home

That sucks (for you and the dog ) He left a surprising amount of dirt, too.

Does anyone know how a body shop will replace the bumper? Will they order an already OEM painted bumper? Or do they try to color match it themselves.

I don't believe bumpers can be ordered color matched - they will have to paint it to match.

But they will paint it before they put it on the car. It's really a pretty simple job.

That looks like the dent can be popped out with a bit of heatgun and buffed to close to near like nothing happened.

but did a portion of the plastic bumper break off near the headlight? It looks like it in the photo

No, i believe what you're looking at is a piece of the corner of the headlight that broke off.

OP, I'm interested to know how much it will cost to fix this, especially if you end up replacing the bumper. Please keep us posted.

Now I'm raising my guess to over $3K if your headlight is also damaged. It will be interesting to see what the estimate is.

I hit a light pole at night in a parking lot in the same spot. Mine was a little worse.

I calledd my dealer and asked them where they get their cars fixed. New bumper cuz ur clips are broken. New headlights maybe fender and paint match, alignment, reapply ppf if you have it.

Mine was quoted 4k

No its not a simple job. I had my bumper and fender replaced - price was £2.3k which equates to $3.3k.

Its not a simple matter of just painting the bumper and fender. The passenger door, the hood and the A pillar will need blending in otherwise the colour looks different, being a 3 coat paint and all.

The good thing is that the pop up hood didnt deploy - thats a big bill, you'd be looking at $5k if not more if it did!

This, clips are now broken and its an extremely hard fix without replacing the whole bumper.

Hopefully the dog is ok.
