Are the illuminated door sills an option on the 3IS? And if so, are they hard to find? I've done some looking and many of the vehicles have navigation, heated steering wheel, etc but no illuminated door sills. Anyone shed some light on this>

The illuminated door sills are supposed to be a dealer option. If you try to find a 2014 3IS with this option, chance is very low. The other choice is you install the illuminated after you acquire the car.

The US version has 4 pieces -- the front ones are illuminated and the rear one are just stainless steel. The install is not difficult, you just need time and patience. I installed it by myself and I love it every day. IMO, illuminated door sills should have been a factory option just like what they did for the 2nd generation IS. The car has already too much cost cutting in terms of material finish. Illuminated door sills at least make up some of the lack of refinement in the interior. But the fact is Lexus has made illuminated sills a dealer option for other lineups as well, including LS...

I think I read somewhere that only the luxury package (power tilt/telescopic, memory seats, etc) has the wiring in place for these to be added. Is that correct?

I am not sure about this as mine has luxury package. We need some other owners here to chime in for correct info.

the option is listed on the original window sticker, but it is my understanding that dealer installed options can be listed on the window sticker as well.


Either way, I love the way they look.

Does anyone know where to get them? Since Sewell is closed... and do not want to get it from E-bay as well.

I know you said no ebay, but there are some Lexus dealerships that sell it on ebay, so it's not a knockoff if that's what you're concerned with

FYI - they basically buy from various Lexus Dealerships throughout the US - Usually the lowest costing one, and tack on their middleman cost. That's my experience when I received my part and looked up the dealership price that it was sent from.
