Avoid tall orange construction cones or you'll lose a side mirror & $1500 for repairs

Damn! Well hopefully you have the right insurance coverage since it's a brand new car.

How did this happen? Those cones can do that much damage? let alone blow off a mirror? what theee

LexVu 02-15-16 06:29 PM

I was thinking the same thing when i stopped my car to check it out & my mirror was gone.

Your statement makes it seem like this just happened to you as if you had nothing to do with it.

Coming into this thread I thought someone side swiped you or rear ended you or hit and run........those thing just happen. You running into a stationary object is your doing.......

Sucks to see the damage.....unless i missed something....what did you think was going to happen if you hit a construction cone??

LexVu 02-16-16 07:33 AM

while i was driving last night i switched from the left lane to the right lane & hit a construction cone/barrel. I should blame the city for having the thing so close to the road but i also blame myself for not seeing it. & you're right this was my own doing

This happened 4 days after I got my car as well =( just our luck and timing....

- A jeep with a spare tire and a tow hook backed into my car (is350 fsport)
- damage done to hood, grill, bumper alignment and passenger headlight moisture leak

That sucks for both of you.

I like at it this way, you got the first scratch out of the way, just suck it up and get it fixed.

There will be plenty more dings dents and scratches coming our way over the years. Just have to get used to it. It always hurts more when it is your own fault though.

Good luck with the repairs.

@lexvu
What part in Florida are you in? I remember they have HUGE wide lanes and huge parking spots...

LexVu 02-16-16 05:21 PM

@Taideee Ahhh... those pictures just gave me nightmares. It was the first pic of the orange barrels. & im in tampa

Glashub 02-16-16 07:18 PM

These sorts of accidents are common when one buys a new car, imo. It takes a while to adjust to the new dimensions.
