Door wouldn't open without key

Strangest thing just happened. Went to go open my door as I always do, and when I touched the handle sensor it beeped several times (more than the 2 times it does to unlock), and it didn't unlock. I would use my keyfob to hit unlock, but again when I tried to pull the handle open it was locked and kept beeping.

The passenger side seemed to work.

Eventually I used the physical key to unlock the driver door and it worked. Didn't happen again after I locked/unlocked. Anyone heard of this before? Was there an issue with the electronic locking/unlocking mechanism?

It's happened to me several times, I thought it was because I had my phone in the same pocket as the key and maybe that was messing with it. But it's even happened when I don't have them together. And of course, I can never replicate it for the dealer.

I've seen this happened before. Whenever the interior lock button/bezel, however you call it, is stuck in the middle,(not in lock, or unlock), this will happen.

I'm not really sure I follow. The lock button on my driver's door is two separate buttons and not a saddle switch. How does it get stuck in between?

It happened to me. My car is at the dealer getting the driver's actuator replaced and the temp servo motor also.

make sure when you touch your door handle, and it beeps once, don't try to actually open the door until you heard the mechanical unlock sound. If you try to open it before it really unlocks it can get "stuck" in an inbetween position.

he's talking about the manual lock next to the door lever...you know the thing we had to use before power door locks were invented? not to be a D, but if your car was sinking down in a lake, you'd be in deep doo doo cause your power locks didn't work and you didn't know you have a manual lock. anyway...if that's stuck in between lock and unlock, you're going to have the issue.
