It's the year 2016..

and every Lexus vehicle except the Lexus IS has a back button for the infotainment. Seriously Lexus?? How hard is it to add one extra button?

GS doesnt have one as far as i know, only on the screen, but not an actual button

i believe the IS is set up like the GS. the back button is on the top right of the screen if I'm not mistaken.

I have a back button on my NX, and rarely use it. I think you're overly worried on not a big deal. Furthermore, as a design engineer, adding an extra button is really difficult actually. Considering a different board would be needed, the GUI would have to be redesigned to accept input from that button, and mostly the already tight center console of the IS would have to be slightly redesigned. A lot of cost there.

The non-ML 3IS has a back button

My non-ML system has a "back" button on the center console that displays the previous screen.

Neither my IS nor my RX have dedicated back buttons. It's not a big deal to me.
