Right? All of these complaints and negative reviews of the infotainment screen would had never existed if Lexus put this in the new generation IS. Could of at least put in better hardware to make it snappier (assuming if its like a computer, maybe putting in extra RAM or a better processor).
On a different note, they put the LFA gauge in the RX F-sport not very fitting but it's a gimmick.

Yes... the new system is faster and the display is bigger, but really, it's the same icons, layouts and interface. A slower than it could be, outdated, poorly laid out and unintuitive interface at that. Lexus/Toyota is really behind the ball on infotainment systems. Tesla is light years ahead. Even Audi's Google integration is pretty good.
My opinion for all automakers is to adopt an Android or Apple based system. These tech companies have literally trillions of hours of more software architecture and engineering experience than automakers ever will and they can do it for a fraction of the cost. It just doesn't make sense...

nonetheless, our infotanment system still beats bmw's imo... i hated the fact i had to buy a cable or have a certain tech package just to use my iphone for the media source...

Idrive is actually usable on a daily basis, and once you get used to it the touchpad is great too. Obviously a phone is still faster, but I never once got frustrated using the BMW's system (X3 rental car in CA, put 1800 miles in a week). Lexus system is just terrible for a $40k+ vehicle IMO.

I second that!
I actually like the one in RX F-sport more. No moving parts and I can always see the extended screen.
