Default Widest tires on OEM Fsport rims

Looking to get new tires for the OEM Fsport rims because the tires they come with aren't great. I was wondering what is the widest tires you could fit on the OEM Fsport 18" rims?

OEMs are currently staggered at fronts 225-40R18 and rears 255-35R18

You should be good no more than 20 mm wider front and back on the OEM rims without any clearance/rubbing issues. If you have AWD, add the same increase front and back to keep the overall tire diameter the same and not mess up the AWD.

I wanted to run 255-35R18 in the front and 295-30R18 in the rears using OEM Fsport tires. It looks like they would be a good match using the calculator. Do you think ill have rubbing issues on fronts and rears? in theory it should work. any advice?

295 won't fit on a 8.5 inch wide wheel, you would need at least a 10" wide wheel for them to fit.

255 is technically the widest you can fit on the stock 8.5" wheels in the back. You could go 245 in the front, but you need to keep the overall diameter the same front and back so it's a no go.

To be safe, you should check out the tire manufacturer's recommended rim width range for the specific tire model and size. Tirerack has that info.

I am running 225/40R18F and 265/35R18R on OEM F Sport Wheels.
265 is the widest you can fit on the wheels.

I think I'm going to try to run 235-40R18 in the front and 265-35R18 in the rear. it looks like they would be pretty close to OEM recommended sizes.

Getting ready to do the same on my wife's '14 IS. Lowered on Swift springs, and by running the OAH and width differences it appears this will be perfect.

I tried 235 PS4's on my IS350 F sport 2011.
On lock they rubbed on the inner rear of the front guard. Went back to 255/40/18. but still with PS4's.
Also the PS4's bulged slightly over the edge of the rim. Made the rear 255/40/18's look wrong as they were still straight up and down (PS4's)
Bridgestone Turanzas fitted but the Michelins are a full width tread (true size).

Hey all, looking to do the same to my '16 IS200t F Sport...has anyone here finally done the following on stock F Sport rims:
235/40-18 Front
265/35-18 Rear

If so, have you had any issues? Do you have pictures of how it looks, have you noticed any benefits/drawbacks?

Also looking at some Firestone Indy 500 tires, has anyone here tried those out? Hearing positive things about them, and they seem like a good bang for the buck for a summer tire (perfect for south Florida)
Thanks in advance!!!!

I have the exact set up right now on my IS350 AWD F-sports with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season .
The tires are much beefier but not mushroom.
I don't have any pic tho.
