Default Video: Side-by-side comparison Engine Sound - Lexus 2L Turbo vs 2.5L V6

In response to some inquiries on the sound of the 2L Turbo four (8AR-FTS) that will sit in the upcoming IS200t, here's a good idea from the NX and comparison to the current 2.5L V6 (4GR-FSE).

Note: the IS has a Takeda intake and Magnaflow exhaust while the NX is stock, but those aftermarket parts simply enhance the underlying sound.

I like the sound of the 8AR-FTS even though the engine/intake note is artificial (actually any turbo DI 4cyl as turbo's generally add a unique growl to the exhaust instead of that buzzing/bee-like sound that I think most are accustomed to with 4cyl engines)

@lexi90. Thanks. I too prefer the sound of the V6 any day. Much more engaging.

@Loe. What do you mean the Turbo 4's sound is artificial? If you're referring to ASC in the NX (Active Sound Control), I don't have it (Canadian model) so what you hear is engine/turbo non-enhanced by any means.

That IS sounds really good. Currently looking into an aftermarket exhaust to add to mine. This just makes me want one more

oh very cool then, hard to tell in the video, but seems to sound similar (but quieter) to the USDM NX200t when I've had it as a loaner.

not really apples to apples when you have one that has the intake and exhaust and then the NX doest have anything. I would like to hear both with the same aftermarket parts if you know what I mean :-)
