Official Painted Engine Cover Thread

Dropping my is250 all black plastic engine cover off tomorrow to get painted. Wanted to see what you guy/gals thought would look good.

Car is ultra white and have a Cusco strut bar and f sport intake in the engine now.

Paint the middle portion of the cover blue to match the FSport intake and strut bar...

What about the outsides? Gloss black or ultra white?

hmm.... I see where you're going with this.

I would do Gloss Black since I feel it would better compliment blue adjacent to it giving it a more aggressive look and complimenting other black tones in the engine bay, but UW is not bad too...

Here's what I envision and my preference. Not quite the same but I like the blue/black color combo. :)

I matched my exterior paint. It's an understated OEM+ style.

If you really want a smooth finish, you're gonna have to REALLY sand that thing down.
Do it yourself, save the money you would spend on prep-labour.

^^^ Thanks Hoovey!

@cp2: Mine was a DIY which turned out OK on detail, but yours shows it was professionally done and looks flawless! Plus extra points for the Decepticon logo for Megatron. :D
