If you're aiming for 18's, then an 18x9 with a 30-35 offset would be good for the front...closer to the 35 the better
For the rear, 18x9.5 would need need an offset of 38-42.

For the 19's you'd be looking at roughly the same offsets.
Assuming the circumferences are all the same, the difference is where the sidewall lands. With the 18's the sidewall will have a little more round to it than the 19's.
With that little bit more rounding of the sidewall, it will give you more clearance when the suspension compresses.

I notice you are looking at a higher sidewall high, and reason why?

sorry i'm not to sure about tire sidewall sizing. on 18's i was using the stock side wall tires on the F Sport wheels. Is that correct size if i go 18's aftermarket?. On 19's what is the best sidewalls for front and rear?

The stock F Sport tires are 225/40 18 and 255/35 18.
The F Sport rims are 18x8 and 18x8.5.

For 19's, you're probably looking at a 35 sidewall in the front and 30 in the rear. But still depends on what size tire you're using.

This is a tire sizing guide I gave to someone else. As is states in the first 19 inch recommendation below, offset will be dependent on the manufacture.
I don't have one for 18's prepared as usually folks stay close to the OEM specs if they go with aftermarket 18's.

Stock F-Sport Wheel specs
18X8 +40 225/40/18
18X8.5 +50 255/35/18

19 inch upgrade with staggered fitment (to keep the exact same tire circumference as the stock 18 inch wheels - no offset as that is wheel manufacturer specific):
19X8.5 225/35/19
19X9.5 255/30/19

19 inch upgrade with staggered fitment - with plus size on tires:
19X8.5 235/35/19
19X9.5 265/30/19

19 inch upgrade with staggered fitment - with plus plus size on tires:
19X8.5 245/35/19
19X9.5 275/30/19

Most of us who own a 3IS run 30s on the rear to avoid rubbing issues, especially on lowered cars. I am not sure if it would be possible since you're on Downs, but you can always do an experiment and try. Let us know how you make out!
Hey, I know this post is old but I have a 2014 IS350 F Sport RWD lowered on super downs and I'm looking at getting 19s. Would you mind telling me what was your buddy's front set up with the 19x10 +42?

Thank you in advance,
Hafeez.

@feezyh Welcome to the forum.
If you edit your post and include the @ symbol followed immediately by the username, it will alert that member of your post...and likely they will respond quicker.

General answer to your question though, he was likely running a 19x8.5 or 9 with a 235/35/19 offset +30 to +35.

Mine too, but with my particular tire the 235 matched better in the front. I'm going 245/285 next time around.
