I wouldn't go 50%. You may regret it. At least do 35%. You can still see in but you have privacy.

Oh and why is that guy tinting the outside of the window?
Law in MN is 50% all the way. Looking at the video, 35% seems obviously darker than 50%. You don't think the cops will pull you over? I would prefer 35% but I wouldn't want the hassle from the cops.

Also I believe it's illegal for tint shop to do anything darker than 50% here in MN.

I got 35 all around, 20 back window and I'm happy with it and no concerns I will have an issue. For you, I'd go with 50 front and 35 rear/back window as you may not be a risk taker to go darker.

My biggest concern is broken clips or damaged door panels and is making me think twice about tint now.

Does anyone know if this procedure is needed to tint the 3IS?
generally they do not, if they are good enough at doing it, or have laser cuts, they can get the tint below the panels without having to remove them, Ive seen many do it, and I do it myself for part of my business.

Anyone have any additional photos of your tints to share?

Now I'm leaning towards 50's on the front sides and 35's on the rear sides and rear.

Thanks!

it aint too bad. You have to have a window scrapper, which is a blade fixated to a handle. Once you get some of it up, then you can peel it off. Naturally it will break on the edges and youll have to scrape off the glue and rest of the tint. But it isnt too bad. No damage will be done to window if your careful about it.

Default Tint makes all the difference....

20% rear, 20% rear sides, and 35% front sides... so much better!

Did my Mustang at the same time... bonus 2 car discount...

Couldn't agree more. I felt like my IS went from kind of cool, to totally sexy from tinting. Amazing the difference.

I agree with the tinting making a huge difference!

On a slightly different note, whenever I see a BMW 3 series or X5 without any tint whatsoever, i find it quite bizarre and weird lol. Tinting could make those cars sexier as well. Not sure if they can't afford it??

Default Tint Decisions, Decisions, Decisions…

Finally getting tints tomorrow(!!), but still debating between:

50% Sides and 35% Rear

50% Front Sides and 35% Rear Side and Rear (probably best, but uneasy as not even)

OR

35% All Around

Would do 43% All Around, but shop wants $50 more for same ($175 vs. $225).

AND, just when I thought I wanted to do 35% All Around, saw a car today with 35% Front Sides and 20% Rear Sides and Rear and felt the 35% windows were too dark. Argh!

ALSO, anyone have any idea what I should pay for the installation of rear lamp tint film?

Have a Grey on Red F Sport. Last minute input welcome.

Thanks.

I don't understand why someone would make the front darker than the rear lol

Also, I recommend 15% for the sunroof!
