This happened to me after i got my first oil change. Was getting 11-12L/100km, and now its 15-16L/100km. Im not sure if it has anything to do with the colder weather we are getting now but i had better mileage during the summer. Also, when I went in for my first oil change, they lowered the tire pressure from 36 to 34 psi (cold tires). This may have also affected gas mileage.

Did they lower the tire pressure because of low ambient temperatures, or was there some other reason for doing this?

Sorry, but i didn't ask why they lowered it. They just told me that they adjusted the tire pressure on my car, I was in a hurry so i didn't question them.

But the funny thing is when I fill up after a empty tank the car would report almost 500km but now after a refill, it only shows 440-450. That shouldn't have anything to do with tire pressure or weather.

I personally wouldn't rely on the cars computer to calculate gas mileage, especially the kms left till empty reading
To do it manually:
1. fill up your tank to full
2. reset your trip odometer reading to 0
3. drive normally for about a week
4. fill up your tank to full and write down how many liters of fuel you used
5. Take the amount of fuel you used and divide that by the amount of kms you traveled for the week, then multiply by 100

ex. Took me 50L to drive 390kms. So 50/390=0.1282, 0.1282*100 = 12.82L/100km (this is just an example, not actual readings from my car)

-yes sun bathing the car helped on the aircon smell problem but i also had to replace the a/c filter to carbon type

-the clunk on the rear is not normal on the mercs and bmws. i have both cars and never had that sound.

-the sound is not only during cold start. i would even hear it when driving thru fast food and when i park the car in my garage

-i don't think road noise is the biggest enemy of luxury cars. my merc and bmw is very quiet inside. by the way, my bmw is a 1994 e36 325i and a 2001 e39 525i which is 20 years old and 13 years old. I have a cheap 2013 Kia Sorento which is also very quiet inside.

I also hear a slight engine knock at idle or very low RPM's such as driving though a parking lot etc

Most likely the direct injectors - I didn't notice them until I had a couple of thousand miles on the car, but some research says that the clicking / knocking is normal. I guess if we wanted a completely silent engine we'd have to buy a Tesla.

My radar cruise control rant - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...re-update.html

Not staying in Fsport..I'd like the option to at least LOCK the sport mode.
Speed/tach has to be moved EVERY SINGLE TIME the car starts up, I mean wtf? Why make a cool feature of the car annoying to use!

This article does a good job of explaining how the EPA treats various modes and explains why the car does not start in Sport or Sport + mode.

Totally understand that..but Lexus needs to totally understand that I didn't buy the car to have it in normal mode. I bought it to have it in sports+ mode.

maybe sell and upgrade where you can make sports+ default or something.

Let's see...
After 1 year of ownership....

1. Cup holder placement is still bad
2. Mark Levinson stereo lacks low end punch
3. Ventilated seats sometimes pushes out hot air instead
4. Voice recognition is beyond saving
5. Weird rattles in the back of the car (have yet to find the source, but it's not the license plate.)
6. Not really a problem, but if I could choose again, I'd go for 350 instead :P

Hi Everyone,

I just dealt with the weird rattles / noise from the rear side of the vehicle for the last 45 days with Lexus. I am from Canada, specifically Alberta and dealt with Lexus South Pointe.

After 45 days of going back and forth and them telling me this was normal, the issue has finally been resolved.

The sway bar bushings needed to be lubricated as they dry out. The rattling noise has completely dissapeared and was due to this.

Please let me know if this fixes your problems for anyone dealing with this!
