Default Can the 2015 interior leather knee pads be retrofitted for the 2014 model?

Took out a 2015 IS the other week and noticed near the knees on the console side, the console has a leather pad. In my 2014, the part is a hard plastic. I'm a big guy with long legs so it would be nice to have something soft for my knees to lean against.

Anyone know of I can order this part and retrofit them in the 2014 model?

I have an IS250 if that matters.

what trim model do you have for your 2014 IS?

I have a IS350 Fsport and I have leather knee pads on the center console.

There is such with hard plastic? I never knew there was a difference.

Can you take a picture of what part you mean?

I have a 2014 IS250 without the F-sport and black interior. It's strange because I see the leather trim on some 2014 models. I have the Black NuLuxe Illustrious Piano Black Trim, so maybe this is only available with the premium leather option? When I go down to the garage tomorrow morning, I'll try to get a pic with my phone.

2015 model with the soft sides

It's hard to see, but you can see that the pieces in this trim aren't wrapped in leather.

here's another image i found that shows just a hard plastic

They are the hard plastic on base models. They are padded on F Sport and Luxury Package models. This is true for both the 2014 and 2015 model years. Yes they are interchangeable, so you can replace your plastic ones with padded ones if you choose.

That silver plastic kills me. I wouldnt call it a knee pad as where my knees sit are leather and padded but that link above to the RC having it in leather is VERY nice. Somehow its naturally where my hand falls when im driving and if i start tapping my fingers to music its not very appealing to hear the thin plastic rattle.

that's interesting. i wonder where else the trim differs for the luxury package.

I noticed the radio volume **** was different and that the joystick had a shiny chrome bezel instead of the matt grey bezel. I just assumed these were all improvements to the 2015 model.

Luxury package trim changes include the leather, the knee pads, and wood on the dash and doors.

There are two radio *****: one for non ML systems, and one for those with ML. The "joystick" on the remote touch controller was indeed changed for 2015 models.

Base model IS in Canada has the standard non-stitched console knee pad. I took these two years ago and you can see the difference what the OP is referring to. Original post here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...ml#post8007664

To the OP, I don't see why you couldn't order the padded parts and replace your original ones.

So many little differences! I have the 2014 with the luxury package, I noticed some differences at the dealership between luxury and non luxury. Now I'm trying to see all the differences with the 2015, we need like a thread that lists all the differences. Just because I'm curious and I live to far from the dealer to casually stop by and look myself.

Per this thread:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...knee-pads.html

Part numbers are 55435C and 55436C. I haven't had a chance to verify them or see what the color choices are, so there's more work to be done.

Wasn't able to find it based on those part numbers but i did find them online.

http://mylparts.com/parts/2015/Lexus...Finish%20panel

They're item 17 on the diagram. under center console finish panel. Comes in a couple different colors too apparently.

Hi, can anyone advise which colour to get to match a black interior? It is either the 55436-53020-C0 or C4, but i can't seem to find out what "W/Leather, Light Gray" and "W/Leather Black/Red" looks like.

I can't imagine it without the pads... but the door desperately needs it. nothing worse than a long trip with your left leg on the hard door.no excuse for this on this level of car. Corolla-level hardness.
