Default Getting sideways

Has anyone been able to get their car sideways?
I know we don't have an lsd and that is what's making it difficult, but it should still be doable.

I did it once when leaving the car wash with wet tires. I accelerated in a a straight line then turned onto the side road thus putting the car into a bit of a fishtail.

Another time I found an empty space, turned off traction control and locked it into manual in first. I turned and hit the gas but just spun the inside tire as I banged off the limiter.

I'm going to try again with a little speed+ turn and gas vs stomping and gas from a stop.

Has anyone messed around with it yet? I take it the eLSD doesnt work with Trac Off.
It really takes away from the fun of having a rear drive car.

It can be done by being aggressive with the steering wheel and gas pedal , but be carful as you may loss control if you did it too aggressive .

2014 IS350 RWD Here, Eh it will if you're aggressive enough but this car is HEAVY. Also the temperature really effects this engine, much more power in the lower 70's vs 90's outside.

Kinda upset the IS350 doesn't come with more stock HP, Modern kia and hyundai's have no problem keeping up with me off the line :/. But at least it looks great.

Do you have a 250 or 350? The 350's are easier to get sideways since they have a little more power but i assume the only way is with enough speed and aggression into the turn. The IS is not much of a drift car so getting sideways wont be easy. Maybe look into swapping out the diff for an is300 diff with LSD and it should get easier. I know some of the 2IS guys did it.

the 3IS is definitely harder to drift. I was at the lexus event last year and saw the pro's drift the ISF and 3IS 350 - its doable but defnitely not as easy as the F. Work on those skills mang.

I have not up to this point. I can say that I got my 1GS sideways twice and it was pretty unexpected both times. If you stay calm, don't lift abruptly, and countersteer, it all works out. I have gotten sideways for fun in my AE86 away from traffic and people. Both times the 1GS came around were surprising in a way. One was through a puddle of water sitting conveniently on cross walk paint and a limit line on a freeway entrance. The other was on a rainy day on the way to work. I was unaware that there was a metal cover in the road that gives access to something. With the metal, oil, and water, it turned out to be slippery, but it was an easy save. I realize this is about getting sideways for fun. Doing that in the past prepared me for the two times the same event took me by surprise.

Yeah I'm not talking an all out drift with tires smoking but just some parking lot fun and the odd open turn.
Does anyone make a drop in lsd? or just the is300 swap?

I'll stick the GoPro on the car one of these days and play with it.

I haven't tried to get sideways yet. The car is still too new for me.

sideways is fun, but the IS has intrusive ESP (which is good)

get an ISF or a C63 AMG.

the latter is very easy to get it wagging.
