So what do you do if you have an F-Sport
 

But have no idea how to you the paddle shifters :(. I want to learn but don't want to screw up my transmission.How did you guys learn how to use the paddle shifters?

The paddle shifters are standard on all of them, they are not an F Sport feature.

Just play around with them and have fun. The computer will not let you shift with them if it will damage the engine.

Read your manual, it tells you how to use your car. It may be easier to practice manually shifting on your gear lever first, then on the paddles. I use both every day and it saves on brakes and enhances acceleration.

Paddle shifters are a blast to use, the right one up shifts and the left one down shifts. Find an open road to practice on and you will be a pro in no time. You will love them

The car will beep at you and refuse to shift if you try to downshift into a gear that would redline the engine. And you don't have to do anything special to shift, ie no lifting off the gas or anything. Even in automatic mode you can still shift manually at any time - like Fizzyboy said if you make it a habit of downshifting when coming to a stop you can use engine braking to help bring the car to a halt.

The only time I find the paddle shifters useful is staying in the power band when coming out of the twisties. I suppose sport mode might accomplish the same thing, but it's more fun having some degree of control.

"Beep at you" LOL I always say that the car is "yelling at me" when I try to downshift and there's no room left XD
