Default Wiring diagram for rearview mirror?

Anyone have a diagram as to what each wire does for the rearview mirror? I'm trying to install my mirrortap for my radar detector...

Just off memory, the two lower (bottom when in the car) left wires are where I tapped my V1.

Slide it down a little to clear the headliner and then it just snaps off...

Pin 1 (Blue): Ignition Power
Pin 2 (Puple): Ground
Pin 3 (not on ewd?)
Pin 4 (Green): Signal for light control
Pin 5 (White): Signal for light control (both are MPX)
Pin 6 (Pink): Power

Pin 1 is fused with the 10A IG1 NO.3 fuse
Pin 6 is fused with the 10A MPX-B NO.1 fuse

Hope that helps. I would not do anything to the Green and White wires. How are you tying it in?

Wow thanks for that...I'm guessing ignition power is switched power and just "power" is possibly constant. I have the mirror tap cable from mirrortap.com to tie it in.

Thanks again!

Correct. Ignition power is only when the ignition is on. Power is constant.

No problem.

This is the 3rd generation IS forum, and this thread is over a year old. You may have better luck in the forum for the RX

Hi, I know this post is a bit old and my car is a different model (2016 RC300h). I am in the process of installing a tap-wire from the mirror harness myself, and I already fashioned a telephone cable with the appropriate terminal lugs to plug into the harness. My problem is that the colors of the cables in my harness are the same of those in the IS... but are reversed

Do you have any idea if the pinout is the same regardless of the cable color (IS and RC share many elements) or should I go buy a voltimeter and check it before plugging the cable in? (I fear toasting my valentine one).

Thank you for your ideas.

Default Did you figure it out?

Hey Mattlocked,

I'm running into the same issue with my RC as well. Did you ever figure out which colors corresponded to the ground versus power? On my vehicle I'm showing blue as ground and purple having power.

Also, when I tested with a voltimeter, the "ground" (blue on the 2016 RC) wire still read a 0.01. Did you still use that as your ground connection?

Thanks bro,

Hi, yep: purple: 12V switched, blue: ground. My V1 works great with a cable I made out of telephone cable and two terminals I had in my toolbox.
